Beautiful Thursday afternoon in the city, so one of my girlfriends wanted to rooftop hop. Treetop being one of the first ones you get to coming out of Maryland, it was a perfect place to start. HH is only at the bar and the patio. Many pre-planned for the day, so most of the tables on the patio were already reserved, so we had to settle for a table inside. And yes, by 6:00 when we arrived, the bar was packed.

Though the bar was crowded, the rest of the rooftop was not, so the server was very attentive until she wasn't. About 6:30, the crowd started to come and we are hard pressed to get the server's attention. Fortunately, we had already ordered food and drink.

My girlfriend ordered a spicy margarita and then the Paloma. She wasn't impressed with either drink. She also ordered the ceviche, which looked more like shrimp salad due to the cream sauce and the garlic shrimp. She enjoyed the garlic shrimp. I ordered the rockfish tacos and a side of black beans. This wasn't the best food/ drink experience, but it was a cute place with a decent rooftop.

Biggest downside, the check has a qr code so you can pay from your phone. The check automatically has 20% gratuity added. However, the qr code adds an additional 20%, so you have to pay attention and ensure you go to custom tip to remove the extra %. I didn't realize it when I had the check split and ended up paying an additional $18.

Not sure if I would come back as nothing about this place was spectacular.

The vibe, the staff, the decor and the food was excellent. We were a group of 8 and everyone was satisfied with the food. The wait times were insane and food did not come out in proper order but our waiter, Mache, was so attentive, entertaining and apologetic that we did not complain. A few items on the menu were not available which was an inconvenience and bad business but once again our waiter made up for it. Prices are beyond reasonable so we will definitely return but earlier because food stops being served early.

This is a great rooftop bar. They need to improve their signage downstairs because the entry is tricky, you need to enter the hotel and go to the 5th floor. The view is amazing, the menu is limited but everything was delicious. They have a wide selection of drinks and cocktails, including a Corn Colada. Service is great. Decoration is super cute

Usually rooftops in D.C. gloat the U.S. Capitol, but the shining star of Treehouse Rooftop is the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, the continent’s largest Catholic Church building.

Located inside the Union Market Hotel just north of the actual Union Market, park in the lot near the market and walk up to avoid paying parking garage fees closer.

Walk inside the hotel lobby and find the elevator that takes you to the rooftop. Once off, a hostess will direct you to a table or the bar with city views.

Inside a well designed space, only drinks were available when my buddy and I went. Cocktails range from $16-$20. They also have wine and beer.

If you like margaritas, get the Porque Elote with oaxacan cheese washed espoion blanco, sotol ono, fermented corn syrup, chinola passion fruit liqueur, and lime. It was excellent!
