“I’m always looking for a good authentic taco spot in Gainesville and I think I’ve found it. Way better than the other taco shops in town that have been around longer. My favorite are the lengua tacos but the carne asada tacos are also great. I ask for the sauce on the side, otherwise the tortillas get soggy. My friend had the chicken quesadilla and loved it. I’ve also had their nachos, which were just ok. You must have their horchata. Customer service is friendly and excellent. Prices are reasonable. I will come back to try their street corn, nopal tacos, and tortas- because I heard those were tasty.”

“This hole in a wall bakery is one of the best representations of Latin American baking in Gainesville. I bought 1 of everything on the front displays for my wife's birthday. Despite a slight language barrier, the owners are extremely welcoming and will do their best to bridge that gap with you. They serve a variety of sweet, savory, and mixed of both. They also have a hot menu. And the price is on point with everything! Their bakes are light and airy. The desserts are well balanced. The chocolate cake is perfectly layered and not overpowering. And for someone who isnt into sweets, this is its the perfect amount of sweet. This place is great for a quick dessert, lunch from their hot menu, or just want to bring back home a nice homemade loaf of bread for later. They are well deserving the 5 stars, if not more, and your taste buds. Make sure you ask for the sauces for your savory order, 100% worth it.”

“This little food truck is on NW 13th Street on the way to Home Depot on the west side of the road by the hydraulic store building. The tacos are 4 for $12 and you can select two meats. I chose lengua and burria. The lengua was cut very small and was chewy, whereas it is usually the most tender meat. So my guess is that it is not a popular menu item and may not be a great choice from a food truck. But I gave it a whirl. The birria was really beef and taste more like barbacoa. It was good, too. They use the very small soft corn tortillas so when 4 are laid out, it fills a 'to go' box. They were not the best but far from the worst tacos. I will go again to try the other meats. Very friendly and efficient young man takes the order and the ladies prepare the food. I do love that they put the tortillas on the grill as well as a half jalapeno, so the burn marks show. It is good and fairly quick. Worth a stop!”

“A lovely surprise! Po boys were great: huge fresh shrimp and delicious soft baguettes. Fries were fantastic. Hush puppies: also great! The cole slaw was not what we expected: it was just raw cabbage with blue cheese dressing as a side. A minor quibble! Really happy to have this new restaurant on our end of town. We’ll be back!”

Surprised that these unique menus made it to Gville - not the typical Korean menus you would find in small college towns. “I don't know what Gainesville did to deserve Pleasant Street Pizza, but I'm so glad they're here. The pizza is epic - sourdough crust, homemade mozzarella, Berkshire pork sausage. It's so dang tasty I bought a pizza bag just to squire these discs of perfection back home. As I write this, Pleasant Street Pizza has been closed for a few weeks to remodel their dining room. It's been the longest month of my life.”

It was a very simple and pleasant process to order at the little tow-behind trailer (parked on the north side of 8th Street and just slightly east of the Flashbacks Thrift Store).
