“This place was a hoot! So first off, and straight away, I really liked the ice cream. It was delicious. That's what I came for and I was amply rewarded for my trip I getting a delicious swirl soft serve cone. Cost was right in line with what it should be. Excellent! But then, they're all the fun things as well. This place has a wooden cow you can sit on oh, and another wooden cow that you can actually milk. Seriously the thing has udders! So, it was delicious, and it was fun! It's a great combination. I wish that I had gotten some photos. Maybe next time.”

The pricing was reasonable for a restaurant in a hotel, and the view can't be beat. I would recommend going here even if you're not a guest at the hotel.”

“This place is awesome! Took my grandfather there for his 100th birthday dinner with a crowd of 17. The waiters were first notch. They took care of a large group exceptionally well and made several fantastic recommendations. The food was fresh and there was plenty of it. Prices are fair and what you would expect to pay for good local fish. I highly recommend this place if you can make it there. A bit tough to find as it is a small restaurant, but so much better than a large chain place. Delicious and great service!!”

“The food is amazing! The service can't get any better! My husband got a chocolate mocha cappuccino and I got a "chocolate heart cake" and a blueberry muffin. The chocolate heart was a truffle inside! It was soooo good! (Cost $5.80) The blueberry muffin was homemade and delicious and was served with softened butter on the side. ($3) My husband says the chocolate mocha was great as well!”

“I’ve been eating here several times weekly for years. The food is good, the portions are plenty, and the wait staff treats you like family. But interestingly, the thing I find the most intriguing is that tax is included in the menu price, and all prices are in $.25 increments. It shouldn’t be so remarkable, but for the longest time, Big Island was cash-only. So paying and receiving change in only quarters was a breath of fresh air. They now accept credit cards, but they have maintained the price-includes-tax and quarter-increment-only ethos. It’s so convenient that I try to evangelize the same concept to other locally-owned casual restaurants and coffee shops, and mention BIB by name when I do. But while the pricing is simple and a breath of fresh air (as well as quite low!), it’s certainly the employees that keep me coming back all the time. I live only a couple miles away, and any time I have time to spare, I like to stop in for a beer or three, even if I’m not hungry enough to order food. I’m always welcomed, and they always wave when I leave. I can’t recommend BIB enough. Truly a place where the locals hang out.”

“Excellent authentic New York style pizza. Originally I was going to give this place a 2 star, because our server was so awful. But then I thought about it...the other servers were very attentive, and I also realized that the management took a chance on an inexperienced server, so mega-points for that. Also, the man at the oven, Rocco is the real-deal, I could tell his frustration with our server Kayla (sp), I could tell this man runs a tight ship...and makes a mean pie. So, all-in-all, Petrillo's definitely earned a 5 star. Give them a shot, you will be impressed.”
