Monkey Bar Steak & Seafood

*The Bar That _WANTS_ To Be a Restaurant*
Took my family here for my son's birthday last Sunday. Ordered the NY Strip MR, came out Med-MW.

Other son ordered the nachos and we were all unimpressed - take a bunch of chips, dump them out, throw on some toppings, and microwave them. Boom. No layering at all. Everything on top.

We spent approx $150 (including tip) and _really_ wanted this place to be something special (since it was a special occasion), but instead found it simply to be a bar, hoping to be a restaurant.

Very disappointed and not worth the money (this place is NOT inexpensive)

* edit * Our experience was inside, so I don't want them making excuses that we were "at the bar" or any such nonsense.

Prices were very reasonable. Food was excellent. Great grilled grouper. Fries are coated with something that makes them deliciously crunchy. Very home town atmosphere and not touristry at all. Bar tender was very friendly with all patrons.

Definitely will return. Food was very good at lunch, sat outside on covered patio. Atmosphere is fun and waitress was helpful!

The only reason for the 3 stars is for the service & terrible food timing. We are here celebrating our wedding anniversary while on vacation. We ordered our drinks and neither my husband or I could have our first choices as they were out of an ingredient. We ordered the fried grouper appetizer, and two steak dinners 50 minutes later after the table behind us who arrived 15 minutes after we did was finishing their meal I had to get up ask ask where our appetizer was let alone our meal. Then miraculously our server and another server came out (hadn’t seen our server in 30 minutes) with our appetizer it was hot and delicious! But then not 5 minutes later our meals were brought over. We didn’t even have a chance to finish and enjoy our appetizer. Our waters were finally filled after being her for an hour. I have yet to see the manager or owner as I was told would be over to speak to me. They did give my daughter a free lava cake for our wait. Not enough for the lack of service if you ask me. The food deserves 4 and a half stars as it was amazing.

Great place! My friends took me here when I visited them on vacation. We got coconut shrimp as an appetizer which was fresh and delicious and the shrimp were huge! I also had one of the fried the fish sandwiches it was great! The portion sizes of all of our meals were large! Everything was fresh and delicious! When I visit again I will definitely go back!
