Doc Ford's Rum Bar & Grille - Sanibel Island

9/29/19 - This was our second visit to Doc Ford's. (First visit was 4 years ago.) My wife ordered the Doc Ford's Original Lime Panko Crusted Fish Sandwich and a bowl of Clam Chowder. I ordered the Seafood Paella and a side salad. Everything was good but my wife thought the Clam Chowder was a bit too cold. The atmosphere is nice and the staff was very attentive. Ample parking.

Island Inn had recommended this location to its guest during the closure of Traditions on the Beach for their dining pleasure.
We were already acquainted with Doc Ford's near Ft Myers Beach location so we knew we were going to sample their table fare.
Normally, I try to get fresh seafood entrees while in Florida but their Southwestern Salad just look too inviting from the table across from us to pass up. While my wife, Ashley had a wonderful Mexican dish with black beans and rice...
Now the next tidbit of info is to the management of this establishment...
Whoever is in the kitchen making up that Carrot cake everyday she needs a big, large, huge raise in pay. She or whoever you got making it, is a fabulous baker and the frosting is beyond belief.
Now for the second slap on the back...
Jon our server was stupendous to say the least for he met our every expectation even recommended a new line of bourbon for me and Jon's recommendation for dessert was none other than the house carrot cake.
Just to let you know our second night we went out to Timbers restaurant to eat sushi but we left Timbers and went back to your establishment for carrot cake and coffee. We just couldn't pass up another chance of eating that delicious dessert!

What an absolutely superb place to eat! The food, from appetizers to entrees was fantastic!! (We had bo space for dessert!!) The fish fingers appetizer was simply the best fish starter I have ever had. Outstanding!! Patti was our server and she was lovely, friendly and very nice. I definitely recommend a stop off at Docs if you are anywhere near Sanibel, but do you know what - its actually so good, it's worth a drive specifically to eat there. Fabulous!!

We recently visited Doc Ford's for the first time on our recent vacation to the island. It will not be the last time. The food was spot on and delicious. Our server, Michelle, was delightful and we could not have asked for a better experience. If you are on the island, definitely check them out. You won't be sorry!

Visited last night and was extremely pleased. Food was great, well seasoned and good portions. The restaurant was packed however the service was on point. Our server, Allie was really attentive. Did not find the food to be overpriced at all given the fact that it is all homemade and high-quality food. Would definitely be back again on our next visit to Sanibel.
