“Tonight we went to have dinner at Sonny's and found out it is under new ownership, Mitchell's Bar BQ. My wife and I were tempted to get in the car and go to another place to eat, but figure what the hell, let's give a new place a chances. Of course we were expecting Sonny's but was soon to find out this place was different. New menu, open salad bar (which I did miss from Sonny's) and new items from starters to main dish. We started with the crispy fried cheese, very yummy. My wife had pulled pork with collard greens and I must say I'm not a big fan of greens but these were very tasty and good. I had what's called " Two pigs and a moo". Pulled pork good and thick with sauce, smoked ribs, bare. And last but not least slices of beef Round of eye. Very tender and seasoned perfectly. Topped off with cornbread, coleslaw, and baked beans. Over all a good meal. Fast and very friendly service. Clean and well managed. I say give this new joint a shot, it might just become your favorite Bar BQ joint.”

“I got a "Chicago South Side Thin Crust" pizza with pepperoni and mushroom. It was quite good: reminded me of Aurelio's, a South Side Chicago chain. The sauce was not too sweet, and had a nice flavor. The crust wasn't quite as good, though: it was somewhat bland without the toppings, and I ended up leaving the edges on the plate. Fortunately, because it was square cut, there wasn't a whole lot of edge. I'll be back to try the New York and Detroit styles.”

The price was not bad at all, ended up paying 25 bucks for the food, not including the tip. While we waited for the food, we played a round of pool. Takes 4 quarters and they've got all the things you'll need. Overall, very nice place to go to. If you're looking for a cold beer and some sports, some pool or darts, or some good bar food, they've got it. This place is much better than the last business at this location.”

I guess those reviewers have not had good breakfast before because this was among the worst breakfast I’ve ever had! The eggs were runny the biscuit was burnt! My wife’s English muffin was soggy and my sons pancakes tasted like they were microwaved! The coffee was burnt and quite bitter! I ended up drinking my water because I couldn’t stomach the bad coffee! Giving it three stars because it’s a step above hotel breakfast well honestly I’ve had better hotel breakfast!”

“SO YUMMY!!! I ordered the Orange Chicken lunch combo and it came with a home made pork egg roll, soft drink, and rice. For only $15 you get quite the bang for your buck! Very flavorful and the broccoli adds a great touch. I also ordered the chili dumplings and pot stickers. The dumplings had a good bit of heat to them but nothing overwhelming, and the pot stickers were so flavorful especially with the ponzu sauce on the side!”

“I've been wanting to check this place out for a few months now. OMG it was well worth the wait. First, it was immaculately clean when we walked in. We were immediately greeted by staff. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and since it was our first visit took the time to explain several of their popular items. The food was absolutely delicious. We both had the bacon bomb burger and sweet heat fries and we shared an order of their boom boom Cajun shrimp. To top it off, they serve beer!!! The manager Joseph went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our visit. We will definitely be back and highly recommend giving them a try. 💖”

“I really wanted to like this place and to look forward to returning. However that’s not going to happen. Positive things first. We were greeted with smiles and enthusiasm by the staff as we walked in. The design of the place was cool and it was fresh, clean and new. Decided to sit outside and enjoy the weather. Opened with the “Pickle” pizza and loved it! Unique flavors and great texture. Our sandwiches were above average taste and presentation was nice. Fries were great, had a nice crisp. Pizza we would come back for. The little things matter when your spending money. First there were no paper towels in the restroom after washing our hands. Had to go to the other one 🤷🏻♂️ Our first outdoor table was broken so we decided to move to another. No biggie except the rest of the tables were dirty and we had to ask for one to be wiped down. The music that was piped in made for a great vibe but the ground/floor was covered with leaves and street debris 🤦🏻♂️ The dining area lacked ambiance, nothing on the table and no décor. Some lighting or a plant or two would help. The place wasn’t super busy so cleaning and paper towels should have been easy. Our appreciation of the food and service was evident by our empty plates and tip. Again We really wanted to want to come back. The part of our experience that was most negative was returning to our car parked in the lot directly behind the rear entrance after sunset . . . Zero lighting! Wouldn’t want my wife or daughter returning to that lot alone in the dark. A few inexpensive adjustments will make The Spot stand out.”
