We were seated outdoors, which is a covered terrace. Great ambiance which makes for a great ladies/social/date night. Cocktails were amazing. The restaurant was very busy, while our server was great, we weren't attended to often. Also, if you prefer a more 'relaxing' vibe, go to the hotels 3rd floor. Mamey has a rooftop bar and serves the menu appetizers.”

“Such love hate with this place. The food is delicious, especially the bourbon chicken chop, which I'd argue is the best. They also offer items other than chops. However, the prices are kind of ridiculous for the amount of food you receive. I've paid $10 for a "large" bowl that has always led to me wanting more. Even with a UM discount, prices are still a bit much. The restaurant itself is quite cramp, but has decent seating and the service isn't exactly the best either. For a quick grab once in a while, this place is great, but you may break the bank if you visit too frequently.”

“Gets pretty busy on a Sunday with the Sunday brunch crowd. Great open air patio. Food is hot made to order. Appetizers and burgers are a great option. They definitely dress up bar food really nicely their beer on tap selection is second to none. Great place to hang out with some friends. Parking is generally accessible but the later it gets the more challenging it is to get a spot. Early lunch is probably the best time to check this place out. Their sister location in Fort Lauderdale is amazing too.”

Note there are the restaurants, and then there are the markets. Two different experiences. Markets serve limited entrees and cuts of beef, but have butcher and bakery options. “This restaurant looks like a hole in the wall and took us by surprise! Fairly new restaurant on a quiet street with ample parking. Very quaint and romantic. Food is authentic and fresh. The owner and staff were very patient with our large party (20 guests) and everything was impeccable from start to finish. Not one person had a complaint. These folks are very professional and know what they are doing in the kitchen! Their dishes are unique and they have high attention to detail when it comes to service. They have an excellent wine menu as well. Definitely will be visiting again!!”

“Its been 4 years since I've been back at Sawa because I didn't understand their concept on my first visit. It's still confusing as of today. Is it Mediterranean? Is it Asian? Is it a tapas lounge? Or a Hookah lounge? One thing is for sure. Their happy hour is probably the best deal in Merrick Park. Craft cocktails including Old Fashioned are only around $7. Wells are just $5. Sweet! Bar bites start at $5 and goes up to $11 for the platinum tapas and sushi rolls. And trust, the happy hour food offerings here are plenty and its until 8pm if you order from the bar. I've tried the steamed dumplings, crispy brussel sprouts and Yakitoris and they were decent. (See my pics) Another good thing about this place is the service. The bartenders & servers are always nice and they seem to know all the loyal patrons by their names. I've been back 3 times for happy hour because it really changed my 1st perception during my first visit 4 years ago. I'll be back again and again until I try everything on the happy hour menu..lol :)”

“Not to bad but was surprised on the quality of food. I walked in Saturday night with a big party, so they seated us in the back room just enough to get us all a seat and comfortable. We made a reservation just to be safe to get us all in. I like the atmosphere and the location. Parking is a bit tough to find on the street. But they do have Valet parking available for 6$. Once we all got in we had one main waiter and two other that were there checking up on us. I don't have any complaints on the service. Surprised on how well it was managed for a larger party. Never any shortage of drinks or wine. If our glass looked low it was filled with a few minutes. They pay very close attention to detail on that part. Top notch service. But for restaurant it's not just the service that I look forward to it the quality of the meal and the experience I had with my family. Unfortunately this time the food quality seemed to dip for some reason. Maybe it was the number of orders but it wasn't up to my standards. A high majority of all the pasta dishes that came out including the Mac and Cheese weren't good. I tried several dishes from the menu. The Miami spice course was good for the appetizer, which I had the smoke salmon roll, which I really did enjoy and I would recommend that. But the pasta dish I order for the entree wasn't the best, the pasta it's self was a bit harder then you would want, at least the protein was cooked nice. I do recommend the croquetas. Those were spot on and I would definitely get more of those. The calamari was nice and yummy. The meatballs polenta did hold its form for very long, at least it tasted good. The deserts were by far the best right next to the wine. Just to be clear not everyone in our party order from the Miami Spice Menu. Which gave us an opportunity to try different things. The filet mignon was spot on and not one complaint from anyone on that. And the Risotto was delicious. We were a Huge party and that room the put us in was perfect at the end for all of us to be loud and not bother other guest out in the main area. Unfortunately that night the food quality wasn't the best but I'm willing to give it another try. I've heard many good things about this place and really want to see an improvement the next time I go.”

“Best gluten free I’ve ever had! Only down side is we found this place for dinner the night before we left Florida. Everything is amazing, their sandwiches were my favorite pizza was really good and the service was top notch. My wife has celiac so we have visited a lot of places and have tried many gluten free bakeries. Hands down the best we have had in the states. Keep doing what y’all are doing and get that delivery system going. We will be shipping stuff when it becomes available. I don’t remember the guys name who helped us but he was amazing, very knowledgeable and his recommendations are wonderful. The staff knows it best so listen to them when they say to try something.
