“I don’t give out 5 star ratings very often, but I also haven’t come across a place quite like this. There are two primary facets to Community Cafe: Food and Activism. I’ll explain both briefly: Food: The food is great. They have a selection of delicious meals, so if you’re looking for something meat free or gluten free, your totally covered. The staff are very personable and the service is great. Activism: The owners and staff here are regular participants in the local community. There are quite a few love events that celebrate local business efforts in St. Pete, and they are always out in full force. They are also very much at the forefront of celebrating and supporting the LGBTQ community in St. Pete, so if that’s not something you agree with, then you might want to go to Chili’s instead. They also regularly host movie screenings and other assorted events centered around progressive activism, and even social events. So yes, this is a cafe, but it’s also SO MUCH MORE than that. Because of that, I feel that it deserved a bit of a different review. If you’re in St. Pete, and you’re looking for a place to dine with great food and a welcoming philosophy and atmosphere, I couldn’t recommend a better place. You’ll get a plate full of great food and you’ll be supporting a great group of people in a great community.”

“By far, one of the best BBQ places in the county! ???????????? Dr. BBQ knows exactly how to make the perfect barbecue without the need for any kind of sauce. Most places slather their meats with sauce, not here, it just isn’t needed. The meat alone has such an amazing flavor you’ll wonder why anyone really needs a sauce to begin with. Of course, they do have their own sauces for those who prefer it. They have a large variety of meat and side options to choose from. My only suggestion would be to add a few sides that are more on the simple/comfort food style. I would like to see a plain mac & cheese since I’m not a fan of anything spicy or overly seasoned. Otherwise, this place is about as perfect as you can get when it comes to BBQ! Just a heads up, they do get crowded and parking can be tight, so plan accordingly. Will definitely be back soon!”

“Had a really enjoyable night out here! I went with a party of eight and we all left feeling satisfied, for a very good price. In particular, I enjoyed their egg drop and hot-and-sour soups; they also had excellent tofu dishes and mixed vegetables. The tofu dishes we got over rice were definitely my favorite, and I would recommend! Waitstaff was friendly and attentive. Food arrived reasonably quickly. Bathrooms we're clean and dessert was delicious.”

“People have been talking about the quality of this place for a few months so I decided to,give it a try. Place is nice, modern, and clean. Menu items are pretty simple nothing too extravagant. The pepperoni pizza (red sauce) is simple and delicious. The crust is thin, not overcooked, and fresh. I also ordered the Big Pig. This is a stuffed pizza. It was really good and worth the $14 price. This is an item I would order all the time. Should be a 5 star but they messed up the order and I dropped them one star. The food is 5 star though. Glad to have them in the Meadowlawn neighborhood area.”

“Lol, this food is bomb. Everything I’ve purchased from this food truck has been delicious. My orders have ranged from the vegan burger to chicken tenders, to the Philly soysteak and so much more ( they have a huge menu). Their food does take a while to make and it is far if you live in the Tampa area, but it’s worth it especially if your planning to hang out at Mad Hatters, since it’s located on the premises. This is the perfect food for late night munchies, I promise .”

What really solidifies Famous Jay's BBQ at 5 Stars though is there unbelievably great prices. For how much labor and love clearly goes into Famous Jay's BBQ it's amazing how inexpensive the food is. They cook their dry rubbed bbq over burning logs. While that might seem simple enough, you would be surprised how many BBQ restaurants get this part wrong. I can tell you from first hand experience they use wood plain and simple. Sides are tasty the service is great what more can you ask for. Where else are you going to get a rib dog for 2 bucks? Quick note: The house sauce is a mustard based sweet BBQ Sauce. It is delicious but the sweet can be overpowering if you prefer a more savory sauce. Don't get me wrong it is very good. Just know if you are not sure you can get your meat dry rub only with the sauce on the side. As always, Eat happy, live for today remembering great food is everywhere you just have to look”

“We like Trophy Fish! They have some very unusual drink options to try and the seafood options change daily with what they get at the market that day. We've been there several times and tried different drinks and meals and have been very pleased with all.
