El Melvin Cocina Mexicana

This restaurant is my new and my family's favorite Mexican joint. Great staff but the food was fantastic. Fresh not heavy and full of flavor. Prices are great. But the new owners have done wonders with this m ain street place. If you love great Mexican then you must go. Enjoy!!!

They have great reasonable brunch options now. Would like to go back again and try more dishes on this menu and the dinner one. Plus the drinks are awesome to. Live DJ on Sunday with cool beats made the day even better.

This was our first time here, just so happens it was their first brunch. Awesome! Great menu, I recommend "The Dorothy". Service was great, awesome atmosphere. We cannot wait to come back to try the traditional menu!

El Melvin is the perfect addition to downtown Sarasota! They have the best deals for happy hour and they always have live music to make your experience even better. I've tried several different food items and all of them have been absolutely delicious and are cooked with such incredible flavor! I've never been disappointed by their food, drinks, staff or atmosphere and I love to come here with friends and family. I highly recommend giving this new restaurant a try and start by ordering the pork belly tacos!

I really enjoy the updated vibe and lighter colors compared to the old restaurant Two Senoritas. Food was really good, however the rice was overcooked like it had been sitting all day being warmed. The burrito I had was very tasty. The pico that accompanies it is fresh and adds another layer of flavor. Drinks are great and I love the updated bar as well. Music was live and at times could get a little to loud if you are seated near them in the bar area. Would recommend for Mexican food lovers or anyone who likes a good Margarita!
