Our first time in this one here in the Villages of Florida. Signed up and got a Free appetizer. Even Happy Hour on my beer.
Also the first one we've seen with Karaoke around the outside bar. Lots of fun. Crowded on a Monday

The food was great as always. We weren't sure if we were going to have a good dining experience because when we first got there, the hostess told us there was a wait when 1/2 the restaurant was empty. She explained that they were short staffed, so she didn't want to over seat anyone. Well we did have to wait awhile to be seated but once we got to our table our server was great! She was very efficient, didn't wait long for food at all and very pleasant. We were so surprised to get such great service.

A request of my nephew when he visits, and Sonny's has never let us down. Good food and great service. This last visit was for lunch. Portions were just right, although some of our group with petite appetites took food home. At our table we had a mix of ribs, pulled pork, brisket, and even salad topped with pork, all were liked. Try the different sauces or mix them together you won't be disappointed

My father moved to the Villages in Florida a few years ago. One of the first places we ate was Sonny's BBQ. I'm not sure if it is a chain, but it kind of has that feel. Despite that, the barbecue is excellent. I always get the Carolina pulled pork sandwich with a sweet BBQ sauce and coleslaw on the side which I put on my sandwich. The baked sweet potatoes come with a cinnamon butter spread that makes it taste like a dessert! the cornbread muffins are also a treat, I'm usually so full I bring it home and have it to snack on later. my father typically gets the ribs, which look very yummy. He says they taste great as well. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a quick bite to eat. It is family friendly and has senior citizen and daily specials. Also, they do have a salad bar for those that may want a healthier option.
