“This was our first visit, we ordered carry out. We went around lunchtime, and the drive thru was very busy, and there were a couple of customers inside. Service was quick and friendly even though they were extremely busy. We ordered 2 cheese burgers and 2 sides fries and onion rings. Plus a large drink. We were very pleased with everything. Inside there are some tables and there is a spot outside to enjoy as well. We chose to take our food and enjoy it at the local park on the river. I would definitely recommend this burger spot. We will definitely be back. Great local restaurant.”

“We missed the Live Oak Gathering for the few years they were gone and we were so happy to hear that they were back in a new location. They did an awesome job with the new location and they can accommodate so many more tables. The place was hopping when we stopped there for late lunch on Saturday April the 9th, sometime after 1pm. There was a line at the door and out the door. The food was great, the service was on spot and the atmosphere was jovial. The prices were a bit higher than they had before but this is going to be a new normal with most restaurants. We overheard someone complain about the prices. Sorry to say but a couple of the other restaurants in town have raised their prices quite a bit as well. So, I wasn't surprised by this and you can't go by what the prices were a few years ago. The Reuben I ordered was melt in your mouth delicious. Our daughter had the steak which she devoured and my husband had the cheeseburger. All of the food was delicious, our appetizer was hot and tasty, as it was the bacon & cheese fries. Those servers were going and going, up and down those steps and making sure the customers had anything they asked for.”

We have waited on our food to be prepared with the understanding that the McAlpin Country Diner is a new establishment and has a limited number of employees. THERE SHOULD NOT BE ANY REASON TO HIRE EXTRA HELP JUST SO THE FOOD CAN BE PREPARED AND SERVED TO MAKE YOUR DAY GO FASTER! Let's put it this way: new business, less servers or cooks standing around doing nothing but driving up the cost of the meal. I have not been disappointed with the quality of food prepared: Tuna sub with the fixings and have had their French Toast on two occasions and it is HOT when it delivered to our table. I have had to wait longer periods of time to get seated, order, and receive my order (which is Luke warm or cold) than this restaurant may take to complete my order. It isn't the new building or the fancy decorations which keep me coming back, it's the service, the quality of food and very friendly staff. To the owner and staff: you are doing an excellent job and serve good down home country food! I don't care if it takes 45 minutes to prepare French Toast, I know it will be fresh and hot AND not sit under a heat lamp until the waitress decides when she is going to serve the customer!”
