“We were driving from Hilton Head Island up to Augusta on a Sunday afternoon when we blew by this restaurant. We thought we could grab a meal along the way but we never passed a single eatery. We saw the Fish Eye and did a quick search on our phone and saw excellent reviews. We did a u-turn and boy, are we glad we did! It’s in the middle of nowhere but it was one of the most memorable meals of our vacation. We were treated to enormous helpings of fantastic Southern fare: fried chicken (to die for!), Turkey, Pork ribs, and Chicken Fried Steak. The sides were equally delicious: Mac and cheese, sweet potato casserole, cabbage and sausage, green bean casserole. There may have been others but the four of us did our best to sample everything. The amazing desserts were Chocolate Eclair cake and some sort of chocolate and peanut butter and Oreo wonderfulness. The owner’s Mom visited with us and introduced us to her son who owns and operates the restaurant. They were the very essence of Southern hospitality. Everything in the building was spotless and well-designed. We give it a A+++ rating.”

But either way, we were catching up with friends.. an suddenly realized it was 10:15pm! Not one staff gave us rude looks or even asked us to leave! We even had gotten food after 9:30 an they made it for us! Very impressed!”

“Huge deck in disrepair would be wonderful for events and Sunday brunch. Service is as southern as can be. Sweet girls, very nice. There's a buffet that has all the local fair. I had breakfast and it was perfect. Reasonably priced and nice portions.Take the film off of the windows at the very least so we can actually "view" the lake - It's literally the name of the restaurant!!! Update 06/02/19 I tried the breakfast buffet. Spent $11.22, got a bottled water from the fridge because was never acknowledged by the server. Food was okay, but not worth the money. So disappointed as there are not a lot of options in this town.”
