The food is amazing I love their tamales! We also found out they are pet friendly and were allowed inside in the back room because it started to rain.
Great service and food! Pet friendly ?
Tried this place out today, and have to say that overall I'm impressed. Ordered as UberEats for pickup, and process was fairly easy. Can't speak to the service as everything is shut down at the moment, but the young lady who gathered my food was friendly and personable enough. As to the food, it was pretty simple, but delicious -portions overall were large, and everything was well seasoned. The only reason I gave it four stars and not five had to do with the sides ordered and personal preference on taste. Things I ordered-
Carnitas tacos- Honestly, I usually judge Mexican places solely on their Carnitas. These were delicious- right amount of flavor and fat. Corn tortillas were above average and held together nicely. Toppings were fresh, and topped off with a little lime juice and salsa, these were perfect. The rice and beans were standard, but given the fact that they come included in the price for the tacos this was a great choice if you're not too hungry and you don't need the whole meal.
Shredded chicken taco- this was really good. The quality of the shredded chicken was phenomenal, there was plenty of it, and they didn't clog it up with unnecessary ingredients.
Lemon pepper wings- I wanted to like these, I really did. The flavors are there, and the meat was moist- in fact too moist. If they had been just a bit more crisp and had an extra drum or two (ordered a ten piece and got nine flats), I think I could have gotten behind these.
Texas Dip- this cheese dip features steak, shrimp, and chicken, and honestly was pretty good. My one complaint would be the spice- it definitely would have benefitted from a little more kick. It is. Abit on the thinner side as well, but the flavor kept me eating.
Sopapilla- this was fine, although I do wish they would have made it a bit more manageable by breaking it up a bit.
Jamaica Agua Fresca- tart, fruity and delicious. These are not sweet drinks, but the refreshing acidity went really well with the food.
Overall, they definitely have trumped any Mexican place I've tried so far in Rome. I had a ton of leftovers too, so excellent for the price. I will be back.
