Came to Prefecture on my wife's birthday and were happy to dine at such a fine establishment in Atlanta. Our waiter was kind and made good recommendations and he suggested to us to go to with the Omakase menu but my wife and I opted for the Tapas and Small plates dishes. We ordered 7 from there and felt with happy with our choice. The cocktails were excellent and the seafood and wagyu dishes were wonderful. Since we didn't go with the Omakase meal I can't speak for that but the small dishes we ordered were all wonderful and full of flavor and quality.
Our waiter gave us detailed descriptions of each dish and drink we ordered and helped bring the meal together and made for a comfortable and well narrated meal. Don't think you can go wrong with any of the food options off the tapas menu and the drinks we ordered were all excellent.
The ambiance of the restaurant is high class and a feeling.of luxury and great for a special occasion. We came a bit early as our reservation was before 6 and had time to take some pictures in the restaurant which was nice.
With regards to parking, we self parked in the lot adjacent to Prefecture and while it is not officially prefectures parking lot, we were told it was fine to park there.
Overall, my wife and I give Prefecture 5 stars and recommend them for a special occasion.
    Thank you!

Prefecture Japanese Steak House offers an amazing wagyu omakase. I selected the 8-course $175 full experience. Incredible. Every course was expertly prepared and amazingly plated. This is all about wagyu/steak, and sashimi was only served once. My two favorite courses were the A5 Chef's Cut Japanese Wagyu with cured egg, kintoki carrot puree, and ginger and the Truffle Wagyu Slider with fried quail egg, gruyere cheese, truffle aioli, crispy shallots, and chives. The A5 wagyu was perhaps the best cut of steak I've ever tried. This was truly a memorable dinner. Also please understand that an omakase experience is all about savoring amazing small dishes; this is not a place to stuff your face. I was actually hungry when I left the restaurant and had a follow-up meal at home. But that's ok! I left the restaurant with a radiant smile on my face. The service was excellent and the ambiance quite trendy. Highly recommended!!

Had a great experience here today. The entire wait staff was super friendly and polite. Seemed grateful for having our business (as restaurants should in these times). The food was very good as well. I ordered from the tapas menu as I am not into most of the other dishes offered. With that being said, there’s definitely something on the menu for everyone. I feel as though my boyfriend and I were able to have drinks and 5 tapas plates for under $150, which was not bad at all. I’d visit here again.

If I could rate Prefecture 10 stars I would. The 8 course chefs tasting menu was truly an experience that just kept getting better and better. I don't see how anyone chooses a favorite because all of the dishes were one of a kind and so so good! Angela was our server and she also was phenomenal. We 100% will be back. Their sister restaurants Norifish and Okiboru are also amazing, you can not go wrong with any of these restaurants!

I just want to say unequivocally, this was the best meal I’ve ever had!! Let’s get the tricky part out of the way. It’s expensive. If you’re budgetarily conscious, Prefecture Japanese Steakhouse will likely be out of range. Lucky for me, I was treating myself to a 40th birthday meal without a care for the price tag. I went with the tasting menu. Every course is a different flavour and each steak sample melts in your mouth.

The service is also fantastic! Each server is genuinely invested in you having an optimal experience as well as engaging with you for feedback.

After the meal was completed, I was offered complimentary sake in honour of my birthday.

If you have the means, Prefecture is an unbelievable dining experience!!
