After hearing so much praise about this spot, we decided to give it a try on our last day here spent driving around the island for good lookout spots. The line was really long, so we decided to grab and go.
We ordered their garlic herb chicken breast salad and the miso ginger salmon sandwich. The sandwich had quite a bit of flavor in comparison to their salad. It was moist and had a good sauce to it. My salad on the other hand was just okay. I'm not even sure there was much seasoning on my chicken as it tasted pretty plain. For the amount of lettuce they give you, I thought I'd get more toppings on it. I would've preferred less amount of lettuce or more toppings to balance it out. The dressing they give you is good, a pretty simple vinaigrette.
Next time, I'd probably opt for something other than a salad as that seems to be the best stuff here. Be warned that their parking can get tight, so if you drive a larger vehicle, be careful. We watched a couple people just barely get out of their parking spaces without scratches and one lady did end up hitting someone.
We went to this place because a friend recommend it. We ordered the New York steak plate ($17.50) and the Surf & Turf ($19.75). Hubby is not impressed with the cut of the steak (there is just too much fat). I'm pretty happy with the shrimp and chicken in my dish. Portion is pretty generous. Both dishes come with white rice and salad on the side. Ask for soy sauce to add on your rice otherwise it might be too bland.
The garlic chicken breast with mustard and grilled onions on fresh focaccia bread---paired with French fries and a refreshing glass of iced tea---were exactly what I needed after my hike up and down Diamond Head!
Loooooved it! Make sure to get the fried rice. Nice crunchy bits of rice and overall very tasty. Seems like more locals stop by at this spot. We got a few items from the market also which were also tasty. I would go back!
Just moved across the street so we decided to try the grill. The food came out at a decent time. there's a market next door. There's only like 2 tables outside to dine. The char siu plate was nice. My sister got the burger. She said it was good. But she gave me her onions, they weren't too tasty. It was soft and not a bit crunchy. Other then that it was nice. Parking looks pretty hectic.
