Zippy's Waiau

For some reason the fried chicken here tops all other Zippy's. Amazing!! Very consistent!!!

Currently only Zippy's open for the Pearl City Aiea area but they're doing their best to keep up with providing food to the community. Their curbside pickup is pretty good with designated stalls on their fast food side of the building. They've also coned off areas to help the flow of traffic.

“Comfort food”...that would not exactly capture the experience of dining here. Perhaps “Comfort restaurant”? We periodically visit this location of the Zippy’s restaurant chain.

I’ve been patronizing this particular location since high school, and it is very comforting that the entire experience is always the same.

Consistent food quality has been my impression over the span of decades. At times, the portion sized (more predominantly at the take-out counter) seemed to have become smaller, but that may have been due to their change in take out containers some years ago.

In any case, food is always good and consistent as is the service. I’d normally have rated this place a “3”, but had to give it the extra nudge to a “4” for the intangible “comfort location” factor.

Great place for family breakfast! Love the variety of choices: fried rice, waffles, crispy hasbrowns, homemade corned beef hash, chili omelette, spam and pancakes! The AC is cold so gotta eat fast so your food doesn’t get cold too, but coffee is topped off frequently. Servers are fast and friendly and service given is always top notch!
