Dear Bodacious Pig,
I can't remember the last time I ate at your establishment; perhaps it was 3 years ago? At that time, I took my lunch and sat under some glorious Eagle trees, it was fall. I scarfed down my lunch and it was delectably seasoned, flavorful, an experience! Why now did I spend twice as much money on the pulled pork and tri-tip and it comes with no flavor? The food is "not horrible". "Underwhelming" is another word choice from a fellow human (Texan)...but certainly NO Neighbor Tim's in terms of juiciness, and even price! What happened to the BODACIOUS Pig?!?
Yay! We finally got to try this place and it did not let us down!! We were greeted by Dag who was just sweet as can be. Once seated, Trenise was there within a minute to take our drink order. The place was pretty packed and everyone working there was working hard! Then came the food. I’ll put it this way, ALL plates were clean at the end. I had the wedge with smoked chicken and a side of sweet potato fries. The salad with chicken filled me up, and the fries were perfectly crispy. The fry sauce has a nice little kick to it as well. My dad and husband both ordered the 2 meat plates with ribs, chicken and tri tip. My dad demolished the ribs so I didn’t try those, but I did get a bite of the tri tip and it was awesome. My mama really just wanted a BLT… they have a chicken BLT on the menu, and when my mom told Trenise she just wanted a BLT, Trenise said no problem and had the chicken come on the side which my mama really enjoyed. Great portion sizes too! This is a cozy spot with a really western/rustic vibe and the whole staff is wonderful. Thank you again, Trenise and Dag for being so welcoming and great! We absolutely will be back!
We had a very last-minute need to feed about 15 people and fortunately we thought of the Bodacious Pig! They make the best BBQ and sides and everyone was so happy with their food. We got a variety from their menu and no one went away hungry that night. Give them a try! They are great community citizens!
It was a random find on Google! I don't often crave BBQ foods, but this was a great find. Here at Bodacious Pig I order the "Oink Oink Burger"🐷 it comes with a tender beef patty, amazing bbq'd pulled pork, topped with in house coleslaw. For an extra 75 cents I had a side of their yummy Mac N Cheese 🧀. Complimented my burger with Mother Earth's amazing "Tierra Madre" beer 🍺. We did come for lunch time on a Saturday, so the restaurant wasn't super busy, which made the accommodation convenient. Our server was Jason, he did really great with our service. It's very difficult to find amazing servers and I am always pleased when they pop-up to kindly assist us.
Inside sitting looked very nice, I do suggest that in future they can upgrade their patio with sturdier sitting and something that fits the Bodacious Pig ambiance. Such as wooden furniture across their patio. I think it would compliment their food very nicely. Overall thank you for the delicious BBQ. Will be returning back!
I loved this place! I’m from Georgia originally and I’ve been missing southern bbq. This place has the best bbq I’ve tried in Boise! The ribs are to die for. I am not normally a ribs person but oh my gosh I am at this place. The sweet tea is the best in Boise. It tastes like home. Everything was great! Overall amazing and I can’t wait to eat here again.
