If you're craving authentic Chinese cuisine you'll be pleasantly surprised by the hidden gem tucked away in the Conoco. Despite its unconventional location, this place serves up some seriously delicious Chinese food. From classic dishes like Kung Pao Chicken and Sweet and Sour Pork to flavorful vegetable stir-fries, each bite boasts authentic flavors that rival those of traditional restaurants. The portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable. Don't be thrown off by the location and the lack of warmth or attentiveness from the staff. Once you dive into the menu, you'll quickly understand why this place has a loyal following!

They're as delicious as I remember them waaaay back when their restaurant was in Bonners Ferry. It's been amazing to see the owners overcome so many obstacles over the years, and yet they keep cranking out great Chinese American food and avoid the crummy "Chinese takeout" flavor and texture that is so common in the USA. Everything is so fresh, flavorful and yummy. If it's "bland" or "flavorless" to you, you're probably used to highly over salted & sugared/MSG'd Chinese American takeout... just add some of the soy sauce packet to your meal, that's why it's provided!

Delicious food. Don’t be fooled by the fact that you have to go to a gas station to get it. Their previous restaurant burned down and so they had to make different accommodations. The food quality has not decreased in the meantime. Generous portions, with reasonable prices. The garlic chicken is incredible.

We have been going to China Kitchen for years….including the downtown location that burned down along with several other businesses February 2019.
We love the food and our customer service has always been outstanding!!
We moved to CDA a year ago….every time we go to Sandpoint, we pick up an order on our way home.
Tip….Call ahead 20-30 minutes with your order and it will be ready when you arrive….they are very busy, especially during tourist season.
    China Kitchen is awesome!!

Want Chinese-American food in Sandpoint? This is it, unless of course you think Safeway's deli has good wok fare. It is primarily take out, being in a gas station, yet there are a few little tables should you wish to sit with the folks patiently waiting for their orders to take home. It's a rather unfriendly couple running it, which kinda freeked the Wifey out, but I had to explain to her they were busy as h***, and didn't have time to pull out pics of their grandkids to show. Regardless, the food was outstanding. I'm so darned tired of asian joints putting too much sugar in their dishes for us gringos, but these guys thankfully did not over do it. My Twice-Cooked Pork was perfect; spicy, and had quite a generous amount of protein. I did not get a pic of it because I was hammered at the campsite by the time I was hungry, sorry. Star of the show was Wifey's Wor Wonton Soup. Broth was excellent, and not too salty. Tons of protein in it, as well. Keep in mind they get creamed at peak lunch/dinner times should you be visiting the area and craving asian food...
