Koi Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi

First time here, passing through town. Popped in at 5pm. Sat at the bar. The sushi chef was chatty and pleasant. My server was attentive and helpful, they were top botch. The fish melted in my mouth. Phenomenal food. The mochi ice cream was amazing. Very fairly priced.

Pretty good place for the Lewiston area. Ordered the Bento dinner box with the New York teriyaki steak. The steak was ordered medium rare and was cooked just about right. Not quite the best steak I've ever had, but it wasn't bad. The rest of the plate was decent, again, not the best I've had but not the worst. The miso soup was good and they brought it out quickly right after we ordered. After the meal we had mochi ice cream which was good but a little cold and hard, we had to wait a few minutes before it was soft enough to eat. Overall, a pretty good experience as far as the food went. Now the service was excellent! Very attentive, helpful, and made sure our experience was good all the way through. The atmosphere is enjoyable as well. We sat away from the hibachi grill, which was quite loud, but that is to be expected. Still very much enjoyed our time there. Would recommend for the Lewiston area.

Don't even hesitate, try this place. We're from out of town visiting family and I manage a hibachi restaurant in a different city so my expectations are already high. I saw they were new and my family and I decided to try this place! First off chef Su was awesome, great hibachi chef, great food, great atmosphere. The only reason i gave 4 stars on service was cuz server didn't clear our plates and check the refills for a little but that's probably the manager in me. I seriously hope this hibachi place does great especially since it's the only one in the area. We had a lot of food, tried a lot of sushi and enjoyed the show and it was all fantastic. I hope you guys thrive this summer and we'll be back to enjoy again in the future

We tried the new restaurant for the first time tonight. Called in ahead of time to make reservations just to be safe. We're greeted and seated promptly and our drinks ordered right away. The chef was amazing and did great entertaining us and the food turned out perfect! From start to finish we were only there for 45 minutes!!! We will definitely be back!!!

Granddaughters birthday supper Saturday night Made reservations the day before. They were super busy and waited till 8 to get seated. Once we got seated he took our drink order then asked if we were ready to order. There was 7 in our party. They took our order and sushi arrived first then the show started with Oki. He was very funny and very good with the spatula and spoon. He tossed them back and forth very fast. Then started cooking the fried rice. First frying two eggs to add to the huge pile of rice. Then flipped small pieces into our mouths. Hardly missed. Then a huge fire on the grill. And a onion volcano. Lots of humour and then he had a squeeze bottle full of saki. He would squirt the sushi into our mouths. The steak and shrimp that I ordered was fried just the way I like. Medium rare. Perfect so tender and the shrimp was very good. Vegetables and mushroom soup. Make sure u try the yum yum sauce. Good with the rice and steak pieces. Everybody was very happy with there meals. Enjoyed the chiefs show. Then he sang happy birthday to our grand daughter. The hibachi grill experience is worth waiting for. This restaurant will be on our return visit to Lewiston. The staff was busy cleaning off tables and cleaning. Sure glad daughter made reservations so that we could enjoy the show. Being open not too long they managed to put through a few tables and most were very happy with the service and food.
