One of those wonderful hole in the wall type place surprises! Very yummy tacos!!!
I go here 2-3 times a week and these guys are amazing. Lingua tacos are my favorite, but if you get the chance try the fish and you will definitely not go wrong. Definitely in the running for top Mexican place in all of Champaign. Keep up the great work guys!
I tried three different tacos, beans and rice, and it was all very good. The space is small but comfortable. The previous business left the place a mess. It looks like they are cleaning it up.
Food was authentic and delicious. We tried chicken and steak tacos as well as a torta. The place is on the smaller side, but the service is great and the food was incredible. Definitely worth a visit!
Only suggestion I would have is to put up a sign that says, "Please seat yourself" to avoid confusion upon entering.
Restaurant review
With so many traditional taco options in Champaign, I have somehow missed this recent food truck to brick and mortar restaurant. I saw an article about it being opened on Smile Politely which lead me to this restaurant. I was concern that it would be super busy, however, I don't think people know about this place just yet. The store itself is quite clean and renovated. The manager/host was quite friendly and came over to change the channel on the TV to kids show since no one else was there. The menu is pretty simple with tacos, burritos, torta, quesadilla, and burgers. Tacos are 2 dollars and there are some premium ones such as tripe and tongue. We had the super nacho appetizer which was delicious with freshly made tortilla chips and great cheese coverage. Lettuce/tomatos were fresh which is always a plus. One negative was the lack of utensils we basically ate with our hands the entire meal. The steak tacos x 3 were well seasoned and not too greasy. The tortillas were cooked just right so I have no complaints. Overall I will be back to this place for tacos, but I hope they get utensils by the next time I come
Pros: fresh tacos, friendly staff, fresh tortilla chips
Cons: not sure why no utensils, no liquor license yet
