Best Italian pizza in Champaign-Urbana. And I'm Italian, by the way. I suggest trying the traditional pizzas.

Place to go for Italian pizza. If you love Neapolitans food, this is it. Great service too

The pizza was pretty good and the gelato was scrumptious. The service was lacking. Not sure what may have been going on but our waitress was not attentive at all and even left our table without taking my husband’s order! Then when my daughters pizza came out it had no mushrooms and all the waitress said was Mushrooms on pepperoni? I didn’t hear that! No offer to remake or anything! Not even an apology for missing that. Was a bit disappointing!

Nice pizza place with wood fired ovens. I had a "Pomodoro" with parmesan cheese, prosciutto, and cherry tomatoes. One pizza serves about one (hungry) person, kids can split a pizza or eat with the parents. The knives are quite dull and make it hard to cut the pizza. Service was good. Checkout is done with some mobile gadget with the server watching you enter the tip (I'm a fine tipper, but like more privacy).

Tired of deep dish and looking for something a little lighter and more sophisticated? Then Pizzeria Antica is a great option in downtown Champaign. Fresh ingredients make for fun pizza options. Service can sometimes be a bit hit or miss, but has never been atrocious. The dining area is open, with high ceilings, so it can sometimes be a bit noisy if they are busy. A good option for large groups as they have a large table in one area, and can move/combine tables elsewhere if necessary.
