Never can go wrong with Honky Tonk. My favorite is the candied bacon strip atop the beer. I absolutley love coming on Wednesdays and Sundays when the big fat babies perform! They take you back to the 20's. Food is amazing!
I sat at the bar and ordered a beer (their Old Style + candied bacon combo) and a pulled pork sandwich with Mac and cheese. I got my food super fast - as in 5 minutes tops. It tasted fresh and had a lot of flavor. It came with a few different barbecue sauces to try.
I rated it 3 stars because after putting in my order, the bartender was not very attentive to me, instead talking to other employees. I had to wait about 15 minutes from the time I finished my meal to the time he asked if I wanted another drink/the check, even though it wasn't very busy when I was there.
I would go back if I were going there with friends and getting a table, but I probably won't go back to their bar alone after that experience. Still a nice place to have in Pilsen though.
Excellent food, hot links and brisket in particular. Only issue food wise was the ice cream was freezer burned. Server was friendly and timely. Would've been a five rating if not for the dilapidated look of the restaurant (laminate floor worn through, uneven floors, signs of disrepair). On a side note, would not use the high chairs because they are stored in the bathroom. Not exactly the most sanitary location to store high chairs.
Friendly service on a Friday night. Live music with no cover. BBQ and drinks came out quickly. Legit greens and cornbread. Hot link was tasty. Brisket was above average but nothing worth standing in line for. Very good by Chicago standards. I will be back for sure.
No handicap accessible features. Good service. Nice music. Tasty food and vegan options. Greens spicy but soggy. Sauces not impressive. Thought there would be more smoke on the tips. Candy bacon tasty. Parking is the worst but typical for the area.
