5 Rabanitos Restaurante & Taqueria

Their food is so delicious. Everything we have ordered burst with flavor. My husband wants to go again and my friends are going back again with their friends. We love this positive space.

Thanks for adding a vegetarian menu. I was there in the first week after they opened and could not eat ANYTHING ????. But to suit the hood, they now have a really nice Vegetarian menu. This is sophisticated cooking and therefore costs a bit more than a taqueria. But it is worth it. It used to be BYOB, but I saw a sign saying they are applying for a liquor license. Try something with mole sauce. They make it fresh. The tortillas are also made in house, and if you had freshly made tortillas, you know how tasty they are. Downtown food for neighborhood prices.

I expected more given the pedigree of the restaurant. Other dinners I spoke to also expected better food and a better dining experience. Our meals had high style, but were low on flavor. The table next to us complained about the small size and preparation of their steak. It could have been an off night. However, the mark of a good restaurant is consistently good food and service. Our server should have been trained to serve from behind guests to serve the adjacent table rather than reaching across our table. I dined at 5 Rabanitos again recently and found that my assessment of the restaurant did not change. With a consistent deliciousness across dishes this could be a really excellent restaurant. Customer service has improved.
