Hot"G"Dog

Great place in Chicago since Hot Doug's closed...I think the brothers who own the place used to work there. Can get duck fat fries on Friday and Saturday, and often go on Fridays with my daughter for guilty pleasure. She gets a simple hot dog but Daddy gets to try all the more inventive ones, many with good spice. Sometimes simple is good too. They have great caramalized onions that are perfect on a Polish sausage. Deft worth a visit...cash only I think.

Nice place to get any of your fast food favorites. Hot dogs, cheese burgers, French fries etc... There is no parking lot or drive thru. The dinning room is spacious and clean. Enjoy!

Fantastic hot dogs. I love going in and checking out their specials, they always have an amazing variety of different types of hot dogs you won't see anywhere else! Also, love the duck fat fries they serve on the weekend. Be sure to bring cash.

Tried a burger, the New York sausage and the Rabbit special. The NY was spicy/hot, covered in mustard (which I love) and sweet grilled onions - it was delicious. I've never had rabbit so I don't have anything to compare it too. I think the Dijon mustard and some other flavor I'm not familiar with were too strong paired with the rabbit, but that's just me. The burger was average; the fries were good. It's cash only but they have an ATM. Football was on the tv which is a plus as far as I'm concerned. They have unusual offerings, so if you like sausage, it might be worth a try.

They are the inheritors of the Hot Doug recipes and suppliers. The food is great. The fries are wonderful. The ambiance of Hot Doug's is not there--but so are the long waits. Great "encased meats." You can get regular hot dogs, brats but also exotics like pheasant or alligator (the menu for these changes continually).
