Devil Dawgs on State

Good, solid, deliver as expected, maybe even a bit better. They never let me down and offer good value. They're my go-to late night stop.

The hot dogs and other sausages get the focus, but don't forget their chicken sandwiches, sliders/burgers, and especially not the shakes!

This place is a go-to for me every time I get to come back to Chicago. I go for the Chicago Dogs and they never disappoint. The staff have been courteous every time. Prices are reasonable. Highly recommended!

My son likes Chicago dogs, the poppy seed bun, the snap of the all beef dog casing.. But we only get facsimiles of the Chicago dog up in Milwaukee. So when I took him to the Chi, I wanted to let him experience the real thing, and struggled with choosing between so many traditional standardbearers. I decided to take a chance on Devil Dawgs, and I'm so glad I did. I never knew.. Devil Dawgs imaginative hot dog combinations ended up aligning perfectly with my own tastes and sensibilities.. Things I would never personally think to put on a hot dog, but only because I'm limited by small thinking and lack of hot dog creativity. But I long, deeply, for every menu item. Each one is exactly what I want at all times. I wish they were up in Milwaukee, but it's probably best for my cardiovascular system that they aren't. There simply is no alternative or substitute to Devil Dawgs in Milwaukee, and I suspect this may be true in Chicago as well. Will be stopping by on future visits.

First timer, so I tried a couple things from what looks to be a wall menu of amazing food combination choices. I tried a triple bacon steak slider which taste very similar to that other famos steak burger place and a great cheese dog which was really good but they could give you a bigger dog for the money. The fries were good but taste just like 5 guys fries. I would eat there again but it is pricey. But if you have the extra cash II would go for it. I just wouldn't try to feed a large family unless you can afford it . Gotta try the shakes next time.

This was my first ever Chicago style hotdog, and they did not disappoint. Perfect little hole in the wall style restaurant. I'm definitely coming here again to try more of their menu.
