Art of Pizza on State Street

This was the first pizza place we tried during a long weekend in Chicago. We spent the best part of the weekend trying different recommended pizza places. This was by far our favorite pizza place. We tried the regular crust, cheese stuffed crust and sausage stuffed crust, all were delicious. Definitely worth a trip! Oh, and the carrot cake looked amazing!

Really small little pizza joint with some excellent pizza! This small, unassuming spot does deep dish right and has been some of my favorite on this trip to Chicago. Stuffed crust pizza is totally worth it. My daughter really enjoyed the sausage stuffed crust. Pan pizza was pretty decent, but not nearly as great as the cheese stuffed crust.

I actually really like this place. When I want a quick slice of pizza, this is my go-to. The staff were nice the times I’ve visited and I’ve never had any issues with my order. Based on the quality and price, I think it’s a fair deal. You can buy full pizzas but I haven’t yet because one slice for $4 fills me up.

Deep dish slices that have hung out under a heat lamp for a long time are never great. I felt like I got less than I paid for.

The slices of pizza are sometimes not good if they have been sitting for a while. However, the subs are good. In fact the subs maybe one of the better deals in town. If you want the Pizza, you are better off ordering a full pie. So, go with Friends. Deep dish is good, but the thin crust is the best.
