Gene's Sausage Shop and Delicatessen

They have all the amazing German deli items you could ever want or try. And they have different versions of each as well. Really happy with the prices and the service here.

The deli counter is amazing. Ready made foods and the meats to cook. All are great and delicious. They have a great rooftop in the summer too. Employees are all super nice and helpful.

One of the best butcher shops and delis in Chicago. The house smoked meats are incredible. Ask for suggestions and the folks behind the counter will guide you. Don’t forget to shop around for some delicious pickled vegetables and a nice selection of mustards. The beer/wine and selection upstairs is well curated and unique. Not to mention this store is on one of the most quaint streets in the city.

This is another fun place to visit. They have a sorts of things to buy. My favorite is upstairs. They have a tea corner with many types of teas, and next to that is different flavors of jellies and jar of jams, jar of honey's, and there Beer is upstairs along with the wines. You can see out on the street throughout the windows. And see there famous Cow. They have Spaghetti sauces and different types of pasta upstairs. They would have a sign stating the patio is open. Which is upstairs just ask the staff. Or look for the signage. Downstairs is the deli where you can buy different salads or side items, meats, pork. They have a small side window where they are aging meats, or you will see hanging assorted meats like: ducks, ribs to buy. They have a bakery section to buy slices of cake or pies.
They take cash or charge cards. It's a fun shop that I enjoy visiting, different themed candies, or chocolate bars. I would come here to buy my Christmas Candy. And Easter Candies too..

Great butcher, but don't forget the German beer and Central European spirits section upstairs. I know German beer is not hard to find in Chicago anymore, but this collection was clearly put together by someone who knows what's good.
