Went here for dinner one night. Food was overall good but a bit pricey. The pasta at the table that they make for you was tasty but expensive and all they did was put sauce on my pasta in front of me. Would not pay extra for that. Also, did not love that they charge you $3 for an ice cube in your whiskey. Asked the server to remove and he was not able to. Would not come back.
The food at Gioia is great, and the atmosphere is beautiful. We had the tableside pasta, and enjoyed both the taste and the presentation. The only con was we felt rushed through our dinner. Felt like they were just trying to get us in and out of there quickly. Other than that, would recommend!
absolutely incredible. i don’t know how this place has open reservations so consistently, it’s so good i feel like it should be impossible to get a seat. cocktails were great (including perfect espresso martinis), small plates/apps were good & sized well, steak was amazing. this place has cemented itself as one of my favorite restaurants in the city. get the baked eggplant!
I went to this new edition of the west loop for my birthday this Monday, needless to say, I am thoroughly impressed. For starters, the place is just absolutely gorgeous and the service is outstanding. Our server Juan was sharp and beyond hospitable. The bar was a well oiled machine and our drinks came out faster than we could order them. I spent two hours dining here and honestly could’ve spent another two. The ambience is perfectly set for a proper night out, and I can not recommend (if you haven’t already) that you come and try this place out.
The ambiance, cocktails and decor is beautiful. The restaurant is rather down Randolph but still close to other places if you want to go somewhere after. Food was a 3.5 out 5. The portions are smaller however still flavorful, tad salty. I would go again for cocktails and light bites but not when I’m starving.
