Roots Handmade Pizza - South Loop

Food was absolutely awsome. Had the taco pizza and BBQ pulled pork pizza and both were delicious. Sat on the upper level with the roof open making it a nice combination of being outside but at a bar. We also ordered mozzarella sticks that are the best I've ever had but the chocolate pie dessert wasn't all that great.

Staff was friendly but there was a loud group at the table next to us, and the manager kept looking at them but didn't ask them to stop. Overall would definitely visit again.

The vegan pizza is pretty good. The rooftop, open air is ideal for these Covid-19 times.

The menu is a bit overwhelming (a LOT of options) but the salad and pizza we chose were delicious! Also our server Megan was so kind and helpful - she knew the menu well and helped us make decisions!

Very good pizza. Amazing mozzarella sticks. We sat curbside and it was perfect. We were almost inside like before COVID, but still outside to have fresh air and less virus. We had the spicy sausage pizza which was delicious. We also made our own with pepperoni and peppers and onions. Very good. The crust is so interesting. It's made with malt and has a nice tangy flavor. Our server was clearly brand new and didn't really know what he was doing. But he was trying to be friendly and did his best. Can't hold it against him for being new I guess. However, he made us leave the table when we still had drinks, despite there being multiple open tables around us. It was weird. Server might need retraining. Follow up: leftover pizza did not reheat well.
