Yolk - Lincoln Park

Brunch with everything from pancakes to omelets to chilaquiles done right. Neat open air atmosphere.

I’m an out of towner... from Europe, so my review is based on that. The coffee here is great! The bacon and eggs (I ordered a side of both not a full meal) were perfectly cooked. The wait staff are lovely, attentive and super helpful. The portion sizes are massive and the price is very reasonable, worth stopping by. The pancakes were a little dry, that is my only criticism.

So happy to have a new restaurant in the neighborhood and this Yolk is consistent with other Yolk spots. Superbly new and clean and bright. Great service. Lovely staff. Support this local spot so we keep it going and get more new restaurants-

However we went back a second time and frankly were really disappointed. The order was messed up on the build your own omelette and there was bacon in a dish we thought was vegetarian. Hope it survives as we need the breakfast options around here but sadly it might be hit or miss.

Great food and space, but service was slow.

This location is still trying to get up to speed so please expect gaps when compared with other Yolk locations. I live next door and have been to this location twice. I had crepe, french toast, pancake and omelette. Omelette and french toast were good. Crepe was thick and rubbery, and pancake for some reasons was really dry and not moist - you will have to drink a lot of water or coffee to swallow your pancake. Service staff were attentive but unfortunately this is not something they can fix. More of a kitchen issue. I may come back in 6 months to see if anything improves. Good luck Yolk team!
