Clarke's is ok but things have slidden South..
No more N Shore potatoes
Prices have moved up and portions are smaller
Even the options have dwindled
Still tasty, and sweet potato fries were good

Great skillet and pancakes. Friendly, and attentive staff. Dear customers stop making them split your check.

I love the place. Had to retract my bad review. Please understand, I know this is a place that is very special and I'll not be able to thank you enough regardless of the service you try to provide. I read many students' great reviews and I'm fortunate to be friends with a beautiful Korean lady and she told me to come here. All I'm suggesting is that you're not afraid to let us know more than once that service is being delayed. Seriously, if we were bad people of course we'd make a scene. I hope the servers didn't see any aggression in me because they were silent. I wanna shout out to the cook, whoever you are or all of you, the food is the best I've ever tasted. Besides my Korean restaurant over by Sherman on the outskirts of town. Man, I got to give it to them. The best food for any person to try at least twice ;) BTW Don't believe that lie about us blacks, her friend in the University says, don't talk to "them" they're disrespectful and will cheat on you. My friend who is not black suggested that there was some of that going on that maybe our server didn't with HIM very well because I a black man was there. I'm not sure because you have a girl working there like I am so please don't think I'm feeling that way but it's just funny he might think that because most servers will apologise for their delay but this guy never came one time. We just waited long for things.

Hearty portions, diner style booths and oldies music playing give you a feel good vibe. They have healthy options as well and their food is not greasy, which can be the case with diner food sometimes. I would recommend the Avocado Abby for breakfast. Cute place and so close to Northwestern- you will more than likely have leftovers!
