City Barbeque

I have to say, I came here last month and wasn't overly impressed, but was willing to give it a second try. I wasn't disappointed on my second try and I do believe I had the best ribs I've had in Chicagoland to date. That's saying a lot coming from a born and raised southerner.

Can't give it a high score cause the buns are supermarket grade. You can't call your sandwich a good sandwich and be proud of it if you serve (anything) in those small white industrial buns. It just totally ruins it. Those buns are horrible.
I had the chicken, should probably have had the brisket which looks better in photos. Chicken was just okay. The only reason it got more than 2 stars is the selection of barbeque sauces and for the idea of the restaurant. It can easily get to a 4/5 stars easily: 1)Don't use those low quality buns. Bake or get FRESH ones.
2) have some more healthy sides. Almost everything is fried, with cheese or with bacon. It's ok to have rice/baked veggies or so

Pulled pork was pretty great! Juicy, moist, and not fatty. Fries were good. The Brushfire sauce was my favorite. Very spicy, but also flavorful. I'll definitely be coming back!

One of the best spots for BBQ on the north shore. Tons of different sauces (that are truly different from each other), and each is more delicious than the next. All of the sides are great. Plenty of seating and parking. Staff was overly helpful and friendly. Will definitely be returning.

Overall good experience. Food is a bit overly sweet for my tastes. Drinks need a little more kick, the one downside of a chain restaurant. The large patter we ordered to share came out smoking, which was pretty cool. So just shy of 5 stars but good effort.
