“One of the best Chinese restaurants in and around North suburbs. First to set expectations - the restaurant is small and they adequately compensate for their size by their quick food turnaround. The service is phenomenal - they attend to you quickly, food is brought to the table almost immediately (the max I have waited for food to arrive was probably 5-6 mins) and food is fresh and hot. Due to their quick service, they have a well oiled machine of customer inflow/outflow. Now for their food - one of the best tasting Chinese food I have ever had. They're portions are pretty large (not enormous) so you are filled up. Very tasty and they have a pretty good selection and variation.”

“The menu for Lake County's Restaurant Week was absolutely delicious! The menu was created by 2 of the incredible Chefs there -- Charles and Maynor. We were so impressed with the dishes that we had to ask! A variety of options for each course and everything that was brought to our table both looked and tasted great. Please put the Tuna Tartare on your regular menu -- it was incredible! Very friendly staff including our waitress, JJ. “This restaurant is in a very off the beaten path spot. It alarmed me when we were able to get reservations easily on a Friday night... but it was a unique and enjoyable dining experience. The food was excellent. I definitely enjoyed the solenya, an assortment of Russian pickled vegetables. The shrimp escargot appetizer was great. The rack of lamb, perfect. The decor hasn't been updated since the 70s, I think. And the waiter was terrible. We would have ordered more drinks if he'd been at all attentive. The side salad was sad. But except for the service and salad, the experience was great and it was nice having the place nearly to ourselves.”

“Nice, clean atmosphere. A group of coworkers came here for lunch and it was nice and fast. I got the baby kale salad (dressing on the side) and it was larger than expected and quite tasty. Most my other co-workers got the gyro, which they enjoyed but was on the greasier side. Overall good, quick lunch place and we will likely be back!”

“I was traveling for work and looking for a good coffee shop to settle at before a meeting. When I first saw that this was connected to the Metra station, I almost left because I was worried it wouldn't be a good spot to hang out at. Quite the contrary! First off, a very welcoming atmosphere. I met the roaster and we had a great chat about coffee. Second, great coffee and great breakfast sandwiches, even for a vegetarian. The arugula was a very nice touch. A lot of the ingredients for the food came from local sources. You might have to be flexible with the arrival of your food, as the train was leaving soon after I arrived, so there was an in rush of people needing coffee quickly. Just be aware of this, but everything was worth the short wait. I left for my meeting, which ended up being cancelled. However, I couldn't resist going back to buy some coffee beans from the roaster to ensure I could get more of that great coffee at home!”

“Very nice interior after the remodeling, the counter staff try to get you served and taken care of a soon as possible. Needless to say, being on Lake Cook Rd. the drive-thru can get very busy at peak times, even though its not a direct in-and-out to the street. There is not a ton of direct parking, but probably plenty for the amount of indoor diners. The donuts are always fresh and coffee has not been sitting around for too long. There is a reason you will typically find a line here on weekday / weekend mornings, they have it figured out.”
