(March 9, 2019, 3:07 pm)Interesting, authentic sounding menu, but a bit disappointing. The spaetzle had little flavor. The house salad was tasty. For better German food, go to The Berghof in the Loop. Sadly, German options have diminished in our area.

(February 17, 2019, 12:24 am)Our first time for dinner and we were blown away. The food is fresh and made by hand. It is a very low-key, come as you are, and expect to be well fed. Staff very friendly and helpful. Our new favorite German restaurant in the NW Suburbs.

I was stationed in Germany a number of years and visit friends there every year...the quality of the food at Olde Salem Cafe is just like being in Deutschland. The portions are huge, flavorful, and just delicious!!! It should be called “Olde Salem German Cafe!”
