I ordered the Lox and Bagel sandwich and it was bar none the freshest and best lox sandwich I have ever had. The staff was friendly professional and great. The restaurant was clean. “Surprisingly good noodle place! Ordered pork juicy mini buns, dan-dan noodle, Biang-Biang noodle, pan fried vegetarian dumplings, sweet spicy noodle, beef and pork gua bao. We were told earlier noodles are made to order so might take a little time. Turned out the wait is absolutely worth it! Highly recommend the Biang-biang noodle, it is so good we ordered another one! Full of flavor and good texture of the wide hand-made noodle. Almost all noodle we ordered has peanuts, need to tell staff in advance if you are allergic. Definitely recommend and will go back!”

“For us local folk this establishment is in the previous Starbuck location. The poke is good and well prepared. Glad this place is around for good and tasty light lunch. We will definitely make this an easy go to when we can't figure out what we want. Everything tasted great and was fresh. My recommendation to employees is have a better over explanation of how to approach the poke bowl building for first timers. A bit more communication and guidance would have made the experience better, but I feel like that is just a small adjustment and should not reflect on this rating at all.”

“We had such a wonderful experience at Bar Chido last weekend! The food was delicious, the cocktails were creative and refreshing and, most importantly, the service was incredible. We got there a little before they opened and grabbed a table outside. Our server, Ashley, took the time to greet us and welcome us and even brought us chips and salsa before her shift even started. Throughout the meal Ashley and the rest of the team made us feel warm and welcomed. We left feeling like regulars even though it was our first time dining there. I work in the hospitality industry and cannot express enough how much I appreciate great service. The team at Bar Chido is outstanding. We will definitely be back!”

“I try really hard to love this place, after all, the owners appear to have all the ingredients for a great hangout. Interesting & cozy interior space, expansive outdoor seating (thanks mostly to the generosity of the Village of Downers Grove to let the owner utilize public space), a vast wine selection, a varietal beer selection and some creative small plates. Unfortunately, the service is horribly inconsistent. The establishment runs hit or miss with grossly understaffed nights, great staff and staff who need customer friendliness 101 training, food served with a nice plated presentation to food that's served like it just got pulled from the microwave. So much potential.”

I wasn’t super hungry, so I got a salad, which was delicious, but after trying my husbands gnocchi I wish I had gotten my own plate! The highlight for me was the cheesecake! Such a sweet place!”
