“Lake House is in a good location. The atmosphere is nice, and it seems to draw people of all ages. I have been here before with friends and had some good experiences, but my husband and I went to celebrate our wedding anniversary on Saturday night, and it really missed the mark. When my husband and I arrived, we were seated immediately. Our server, however, was nowhere to be seen for several minutes. When we ordered our drinks, we were told that the first beer that was listed on draft on the menu was only available in the bottle. We accepted the substitution. A large part of the reason we went to this restaurant was because of the items that were on the online menu. The waitress told us that the online menu is extremely outdated, and the one thing I most wanted is no longer available. As a vegan it can sometimes be difficult to order without seriously altering what's listed on the menu. I ordered a chicken sandwich minus the chicken, bacon and cheese, because it had lettuce, tomato and avocado on it. It came without the avocado (which was now intended to be the star of the dish), and I was finished with half the sandwich by the time the waitress brought out the avocado. My husband said that his ribeye steak was fairly gristly. We may try this place again because I've had good experiences here in the past, but it may be awhile before we're willing to take another risk.”

“For thirty or so years it's been a good small town place to get coffee and food. They make great tacos but they're closed on taco Tuesday. Friday has good potato soup. Inside needs updating but in a way it's part of the little towns history. Check it out if you're waiting for a train.”

It's one of the few places in the area that you can order a Maxwell Street polish and they know what you mean. Tom keeps his prices low but his service is top notch. Orders are prepared quickly and accurately. Food is always hot. They have the best Cherry Coke!”

“Probably like most any McDonald's, the store is small and often overloaded at the drive-thru during peak hours; in this case best to use the kiosks to order or you're going to be waiting for most of the workers to get the drive-thru orders done. All of this being said it's not a terrible place, just often quite busy and chaotic for the workers. They've got good music! They usually do not do the table-service thing, despite having table locators.”

“I have to say, I was a little upset when I first sat down at the restaurant. Service seemed to be lacking communication with each other, as we had 3 different servers come to our table for our drink orders. We waited quite a while for our drinks as well as our order of guacamole. BUT with that being said, it was a Friday night at 6pm, the restaurant was busy, not to mention they have takeout which was non stop. There was a sign on the door stating that the restaurant will be closed for the weekend due to a family wedding. It finally made sense and I realized why it was seemingly taking so long. A family owned restaurant, only 2 cooks and 3 servers on a busy Friday night prior to a wedding. The service was VERY GOOD aside from a wait that was very understandable (especially with a party of 7). Food was absolutely delicious, I had the burrito campeste and wow was it delicious!! I would recommend this restaurant to a friend.”

“They have sandwiches that you can not get anywhere else. Their Roost pork is a spicy sandwich that is awesome. They also have a Roost beef which is a sweet beef, which is my wife's favorite, and they have a Roost chicken which I have not tried yet. They also have great catfish fillets. I have also had their gyros which has a great sauce. They run a special on hot dogs for $1.00 on Sundays which I hear are very good, but I'm stuck on the other sandwiches. Oh I almost forgot, you have to try their sweet potato fries, unbelievable! Best I have ever had. They have a very varied menu with a lot to try. Tables are limited, but there is usually one available because a lot of people take out their food.”
