“This is a very family and kid friendly ice cream saloon that serves a small variety of food as well. The owner makes the ice cream there in the store and has over a dozen that you can try before ordering. The Gooey Butter Cake ice cream is my favorite so far. On Thursday evenings they have a very creative balloon person for the kids. It is very clean and the staff is very friendly and eager to answer questions!”

“Update (07/2019): My Chicago Dogs today were split! YOU DON'T EVER SPLIT A VIENNA BEEF HOT DOG! I'll try this place 1 more time. If I get split hot dogs again I'll be finished with this place. A year ago (2018): Excellent! And keeps getting better and better! What was excellent is still excellent and the menu keeps expanding! The Chicago Dog is as good – maybe even better – than ANY I've had in Chicago (char-dogs excepted, they don't have those here) and very much better than any I've had in St. Louis! Gyros here are also very good. Great fries. Sodas are good but I wish they had Coca-Cola. Everyone is surprisingly friendly as if you're an old friend and even the cooks will give you a smile and a wave from the open kitchen! Very clean, nice atmosphere, neat place.”

The only reason I am giving them a 4 star is because I ordered some food online to be picked up and thought the drive through window was open . It was not. “Been here several times over the years and find the food to be basic and similar each time. The food is served home style, nothing to brag about, but plain and tasty and inexpensive. The pies served here are quite good with a wide variety of tastes. I'm not aware of alcoholic beverages being available, could be though? Facilities are convenient and clean, service is friendly and prompt. The seating is basic farm style wooden straight back chairs and tables and a few wooden booths. Very plain and basic, sort of 1940 era. So if plain and simple is your thing, here's your place. Choice of menu meats are wide ranging, mostly fried and everything is country style. Nothing fancy but quite friendly.”
