Carpeting, tables, cleanliness all look over 10 years old. - I used to rate Bob Evans as a 5, and they still are a good value. ** Just that they are not keeping up. “Decent food, very reasonable prices. First thing I noticed, though, was that the table top was stained from some previous visitors. It was also very busy and therefore very noisy. The food was brought in reasonable time and the order was accurate. The waitress was friendly and helpful. There was a 10-minute wait to get seated. They appeared to be slightly under staffed, since the seating lady was doing busing duty as well. I ordered a triple steak burger which was perfectly cooked and tasty. I'm not a big fan of their chili but it was decent. Overall a good experience.”

“A little touch of nostalgia (Almost though it was :Laverne & Shirley" at the counter... (these two gals are quite the fun pair. Seriously - like something on the old Route-66 fame. My adult son ordered two tenderloins, and a shake; I had iced tea. - It was a hot day, we had been riding my open air Jeep wrangler.. Place was cool, prompt service. Walls covered with photos and drawings of stars past; A memorabilia filled counter where you stand to order. Want a light hearted break in your day - this place offers that. The exterior could use new paint, and cleaning. Umbrellas for the tables would be a nice touch. (that's why we ate inside, though I would have loved to be able to sit outside). Despite the appearance, I am not sure if you can even go to a window and order from the outside. Prices were reasonable, service was good - Stop in and try it - I recommend this place.”

“What a cool place! We got to eat right on the Illinois river in a great atmosphere with awesome views. The burgers were superb and pretty huge; there are many choices that make for a fun and tasty twist on the traditional hamburger. The sides were good too and definitely not stingy. The waitress was very happy and during the hour or so dining experience she refilled my pop 3 times. And, to top it all off, the prices are very low! I highly recommend this place! Nice atmosphere for kids too”

“Unbelievable food!! We ordered 6 buffalo wings as an appetizer and they were seriously the best wings we have ever had....And we consider ourselves serious foodies! We ordered 6 more of the pineapple express (not officially on the menu yet) and they were even better which seemed impossible. Our burgers were huge and delicious!! The brick oven works magic!! The buns are locally sourced and you can definitely tell!! Fries were like fair fries...so so good! We would say RUN... don't walk to The Seared Heifer!! The staff was great... really friendly and helpful!! And the place was clean with great blues music...couldn't ask for more. :) New favorite place... hands down!!”
