“Three stars because whether or not this place is 5 star or 1 star depends entirely on when you go. If you go early, everything will be hot and fresh and amazing. If you go late, everything will be cold and hard and stale. If you go at exact the right time during rush hour lunch, you'll catch the second or third was e of fresh food being set out. If you go during the "lulls" during rush hour lunch, you'll get the cold hard stale bottoms of the pans. Roulette!”

“Have been avoiding this place forever and finally went today and was pleasantly surprised at how good it actually was. I would come back for the salad bar alone, but the steak, although somewhat tough, was delicious. It was also very clean...well, maybe not spotless, but considering that most fast casual places should be closed by the health department, this place was better than most of the nearby restaurants. My only critique would be that the trays and plates are long overdue for replacement and would hope this would be considered sometime soon. All in all, a great experience!”

“First time going to Al's tonight and we were very impressed with the food and the service. Our meal from start to finish was wonderful. Every bite better than the last. The staff seemed extremely disciplined which made me wonder how the management treated them. Our water glasses would have one, maybe two drinks taken out of them and we had someone refilling them. Every part of our service was so above and beyond, I sincerely hope that the wait staff is treated nicely and respectfully! Our steaks were cooked perfectly. I really liked the classic look of the place, like it hasn't changed since it opened from the looks of it. Bathrooms were very clean. You may be able to go get a similar meal at a chain restaurant, but you will not get the same type of service, cleanliness and quality. Best stuffed mushrooms I've ever had. This is going to be our new date night restaurant for sure.”

“Just stopped here for the first time today and the popcorn is great!! I would agree with others that said it’s better than Garrett’s. The caramel corn isn’t super sweet, so it doesn’t over power the Midwest mix. Popcorn is very fluffy while still having that crunch. It’s a local family owned business too! Not a big chain store, so get in there and support a local family and have some great popcorn!”

“OUTSTANDING!! I never write reviews but for this place I had to. I remember when they were located downtown Plainfield. When it shut down I was very upset. Now that they are back I am thrilled. Just ordered a pizza from them and it is the same good ole Italian style pizza. 100 stars. :). Nice delivery driver also. Delivery area is huge. Didn’t realize how far he drove to deliver until after I ate and looked it up. I’ll remember that for the next delivery bc I will be a return customer.”

“Despite being obviously not freshly cooked , the chicken was still juicy inside. It’s very mildly seasoned and doesn’t jump out at you with a signature flavor like Popeye’s or KFC. If you like your chicken to taste like...well..chicken, this is your place. The fried mushrooms were the standout. Hot, fresh, and delicious. The counter top soda fountain was non-functional. They have bottled drinks available, but all they had was diet Pepsi, Mountain Dew, and Gatorade. No regular Pepsi, so I went drinkless. Nice guys working. No staff complaints.”
