“We live in our RV and needed to be in alternative lodging for a week while it was in for repair. The Decatur, Indiana Quality Inn was one of a few recommendations made by the repair facility. I stopped in at the Quality Inn (intending to visit the others as well) to check on availability and was so impressed with the helpfulness of the staff that I decided to look no further and arranged for our stay. We did not know how short or long our stay would be as we were at the mercy of the repair facility. Our entire experience was positive from my first impression to check-out and therefore warrants a good review. In short, there were no mistakes, problems, or even minor inconveniences during our stay, so this review is deservedly 5-stars. There were NO low points. HIGH POINTS: Front desk staff was friendly and professional. They expressed genuine interest in my situation and accommodated my needs (timing, low floor, pets). Housekeeping was beyond exceptional. All our room needs were met, and housekeepers inquired whether we needed anything anytime we passed them in the halls. This actually happened multiple times from multiple staff members throughout our stay! The breakfast area was always orderly, clean and was kept stocked during the 3+ hour serving period. That period is supposed to start at 6 AM but the breakfast area was fully ready to serve occupants an hour earlier every day. Amenities include a sitting area near the entry, internet access, very nice pool, exercise facility, meeting/conference room, and ample parking that could accommodate a big rig or two. Beds were very comfortable. Rooms have 32” cable TVs, a desk with good lighting, and plenty power receptacles as well as USB charging ports. The entire staff, without exception and in every respect, far exceeded our expectations. I traveled a lot during my military and employment careers and can honestly state that this week has been my most pleasant lodging stay EVER. Opportunities to Improve: Add a good quality scale to the exercise room. Personal Opinion: I know sometimes situations occur that dissatisfy some people. I will say this about that: The staff at this Quality in will go out of their way to make sure your stay is much more than just satisfactory if you simply give them the opportunity. I recommend this Quality Inn. Because of my experience here, I will be more inclined to look for a Quality Inn any time I have a need for temporary lodging.”

“Some things never change. This is true for The Galley. We hadn't been there in probably 8-10 years and it's good to find out the fish is still outstanding. The salad bar, housed in a replica of a boat, was still the same as I remembered it from years ago, which is to say very good. The inside of the restaurant hasn't changed, either. It looks a bit dated. The baked fish was very good and the fish sandwiches are "loaded to the gills" with fish. We will be back...hopefully a little sooner this time.”

“The Pizza Hut in Decatur is one of the best. It is a new Wing Street style with a dozen big screens, high top tables available, and a modern flair. This restaurant is great for families to dine or a place for a group to watch a game in a more mellow atmosphere. The manager is obviously a good one as the facility is always clean, the food always great, the service always quick and courteous. Oh, not to forget their awesome buffet. You have got to try it”

“I love their chicken strips with a side salad and drink. I need to avoid the bread and potatoes for digestive reasons so it's nice to get fast food that works for me. “Was pleasantly surprised with this very home cooked meal. Everything was delicious. We had the lunch special. I had the west end cod and my friend had the Swiss steak. It was served with pot/gravy, green beans, roll and cookie. We also got an order of fried chicken gizzards that melted in your mouth. We got the smaller serving and it was huge. “Went to Monster Pizza with four friends and we ordered three pizzas among us and shared--taco, chicken bacon ranch, and sausage with tomato and onion. The crust was warm and just a little chewy and all were delicious, but we agreed the standout was the taco--a flavorful blend of just the right meat, cheese, and sauce, topped with lots of lettuce, tomato, and crunchy chips. The monster-themed decor is fun, but makes it a bit dark at the table. The children in the restaurant were really enjoying it. So, a fun place for the kids with delicious pizza for the adults. It's a win-win for our little town!”

“This restaurant was already filling up when we arrived at 9 a.m. Sunday morning for the buffet. It's rather dim on the inside due to the wood paneling but nicely decorated. Service was friendly and they had good coffee. The buffet was typical breakfast fare with scrambled eggs, biscuit and gravy, breakfast meats, yogurt parfaits, fresh fruit and a good assortment of pastries. “When it comes to BBQ this is the quality you are looking for. The pulled pork is great and juicy. The brisket falls apart and comes in succulent big slices. You can't go wrong with the Smoked Wings in spicy bourbon sauce. The sauce is just hot enough to let you know the heat is there and it pairs wonderfully with the smokey flavour from the wings.
