“Just make sure you go around the BUSY time of the day or sometimes the food is not fresh. Obviously because they can't keep fresh food out consistently during slow times of the day..it would kill their food costs. Overall though it's an extremely welcoming and friendly atmosphere with good fresh food as long as you didn't show up at an extremely slow time of the day for them. Even if you do though...they immediately try to start bringing out fresh product! the effort is there 100%”

“Laid back place with great food. The servers/bartenders are very attentive. The pool tables are well kept up. The place is clean including the restrooms. Barstools have backs and swivel with nice cushioning as well as a food rail. This is a smoking establishment, so if you're a non(which I am now), it is still a nice place, as they have great ventilation... I'll always come back.”

The food is reasonably priced and piping hot when served. When we arrived at about 6:30 in the evening on a Friday night we were seated promptly. “Sadly I do not recall the name of our waitress but she was a trooper. We ordered the buffet and X amount of beers between my husband and I. Typically I would be deterred by someone bringing my tab (receipt) before requested, but she was genuinely concerned by the fact that we had requested a considerable amount of beer. Unfortunately we have a high tolerance for alcohol. We appreciate her and the establishment. Thank you for your hospitality. This place deserves 5 STARS all around. “I went for the gizzards, and they were just what I wanted (a nice hillbilly throwback), but they are deep...fried...chicken gizzards. If you want fresh gizzards then you definitely want to check out East Haven Tavern. If you're into kale and organic raised beef then look elsewhere. The staff was exemplary. Nice, attentive, respectful, and honest. However, and I hate doing this, but 4 stars for smoking. I don't expect a bar to serve caviar, and businesses have to make choices. Still, its the same with patrons. I have avoided East Haven in the past due to smoking. It's not a show stopper for me, but it is 100% a consideration when I decide where to eat or have a beer. 100% recommended, however, if you don't mind the smoke, want great service, and good gizzards. : )”

“Food was OK. Fries were a cold though. The real issue I had was with the rush to order food. I had a lunch meeting there and the waitress kept coming back every two minutes to ask us for our order. By the fourth time I was like "OK, we'll order, geez." I understand you want to service as many customers as you can, but the place was not packed and there was no one waiting to be seated, so what's the hurry? Outside of that, it has a nice atmosphere and plenty of different seating options.”
