Just ended up here on a whim and wow! The portion sizes are well worth the money. I'll be eating leftovers for breakfast, lunch, and dinner today! And the gravy.....ah! Thanks for making REAL gravy for my biscuits.
I've been here about three times to eat and each time the food has just been okay, nothing exciting unfortunately but this is just my opinion. I do believe what you pay for is convenience and it is definitely pricey. Again in my opinion.
I have been a few times and recall almost nothing spectacular about the food, or the restaurant itself. Pretty cramped, and for whatever reason, fairly popular place so be prepared for a wait or to be crammed like a sardine in there. Never had bad service that I can recall, but had an order of chocolate donut holes that were terrible. When one thinks of chocolate donut holes, I would expect most people would picture chocolate cake donut holes, not the regular Bub's holes with chocolate syrup drizzled on top. Think this is more of a local institution, rather than an actual good breakfast joint.
Get the toast! Sourdough tasted like something straight out of a bakery. The potatoes are a beautiful mix of regular, blue, and sweet potato. They aren't seasoned, just lightly salted. But that's what makes them great-- you can taste the flavor difference and the texture is spot on. The bacon was cooked perfectly-- crispy but not burnt and full of flavor. Biscuits taste like homemade, gravy is nicely seasoned and flavored with sausage grease just like it should be. Granola is homemade with no cinnamon, which gives it a buttery almost sugar cookie flavor. Pancakes are actual buttermilk, but seemed to be flavored with vanilla making it a bit similar to cake batter style. They offer lattes which was a nice touch to the coffee service. Also, they serve Coke products if you're wondering.
If I were to suggest a few things to improve, I'd recommend getting a better egg supplier-- regular eggs are okay but taste watery compared to the higher quality stuff. And I'd like to see better coffee so it moves past standard cafe coffee.
Definitely would go again.
I have come here a couple of times and always get the Farm Boy burrito. I can honestly say that this is the best burrito I have ever tasted. I have shown multiple people this place and they have all loved it. The guy was nice as can be and the service was amazing as well. Highly recommend.
