Maxine's Chicken & Waffles

Stopped by on the way to the airport because I always have chicken and waffles when I travel. It was great and take out service was fast even on a Sunday.

The food and hospitality are great. The location can fool you because its part of a gas station building. We've had the chicken and waffles with wings and tenders. Both are fabulous. The catfish and grits come with cinnamon raisin toast and their house made peach butter. Sweet potato waffle is our favorite. But the traditional and strawberry are both great too. The sunshine drink is a delicious specialty. They've got a liquor license now too for mimosas and other drinks

Even had them cater for our wedding and the food was awesome, our guests were delighted and highly complemented the options. Crispy yet tender fried chicken, tasty yams, greens on point and mac and cheese that smacks your taste buds upon contact.
Highly recommended for that ‘grandma made this especially for thanks giving’ sort of love poured into the cooking.
Restaurant offers sit down family or occasion atmosphere with lots of room and oh so considerate customer service. Great management too that meet needs and aim to exceed of dining guests.

Heard great things about this place for ages. Finally went and tried it out. It exceeded all expectations! The waffles were so tasty. Grab the seasonal upgrade, it's worth it. The corn bread discs at the start of the meal with the peach butter was definitely a highlight as well. The pan fried chicken was fried to perfection. If you have the time (it says on the menu to allow 45 minutes), it's a sure thing. All in all, it was a great meal.
