“Unique local flavor in the heart of Butler Tarkington and Meridian Kessler neighborhoods. Proudly owned and operated by a family that is more than familiar with the area, this niche, hip and spirited bar is located inside the Byrne’s pizza establishment and is proud to feature locally based brews, bourbon flights and most recently known for a local celebrity of sorts named Pablo, proud winner of the 2023 Devour Indy bartending competition!! So come on out, live local and support this tiny taste of Hoosier happiness on the near north side of Indy. Totally worth it!!”

“We have been waiting for Amara's opening ever since we saw the sign go up and they exceeded our expectations. The service and the food were phenomenal. We are so excited to have Amara so close to home!”

“Friendly service. Was ready quickly, after I put my order in on the app. App was user friendly….and I’m not technologically minded. Definitely will dine there again. With coupon code we spent less than 10 per salad. I really like the peanut Thai dressing too.”

“New (similar) restaurant in the old Biscuits Cafe location in Broad Ripple. Stopped by for breakfast on a weekend, and was greeted with nice service, good food, and a fun atmosphere. Menu had a good variety of options.”

“Great atmosphere for comedy! Food and drinks need an upgrade for the price! Quality over quantity: Invest in some glasses instead of child-size sand buckets for drinks.”

“Got the breaded tenderloin, the cheese curds, and the burger from the doggy menu. Everything was delicious. The beer wall is lots of fun and tried different ones since it is by the ounce. Staff was attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. Doggies both enjoyed their burger and have been impatiently waiting on something else to open in this location. FYI - the sports bar inside looks awesome. Plenty of TVs and definitely a must for folks wanting to watch a game, grab some good brews (or ciders, sours, wines) and hang with friends.”

“I thought it was pretty expensive for what we got--I guess I'm not used to inflation yet or something but I know I could have cooked a better breakfast for our group of 4 at home for less and it would have but much tastier! I feel like they aimed for a hippie vibe but landed on yuppie instead. Not terrible and the service was good, I just probably wouldn't return unless someone else was paying.”

“Shawn was so helpful today. I mistakenly ordered pizza at some other location, and realized it when I went in to get it. Shawn quickly took my order since my son was hungry and bought the pizza out to my car.”

“I'd say slightly above average for a breakfast place. It was about a 15 minute wait to be sat. Not bad because they were very busy. I love that they offer oatmilk for their lattes. Biscuits and gravy tasted good, though a little plain. The waffle was nice and crispy but came out a little on the cold side. Husband got the English fry up with french press coffee and a side of french toast. He said it was all pretty good. I would go back!”

“I've only gone once but I thought the place was awesome! Darrel was such a great server and the atmosphere was easy on the imagination. I got the oysters for an appetizer but I saw someone else get the calamari and i wish I had got that. The calamari looked huge; like onion rings. I also got a lobster tail and their seafood Alfredo. The lobster tail was pretty good and definitely well priced, I payed 24 for a 5 oz. It comes with a candle warmed dipping butter which looked nice. The pasta was so so good and creamy. Desert was amazing too! Pretty great place and I would love to go all the time but I'm not rich unfortunately.”

“I went back to the Nutrition Bar and OMGosh! Surprise, it has morphed into waaay more than a nutritious shakes bar! With a selection of healthy (organic, fresh, chef-made) breakfast, lunch, or even dinner items on their menu, Jacquie's Northside Nutrition bar offers a truly healthy meal solution. (If you are there after 3PM you might even meet the chef, Jacquie, a successful Indy events caterer.) I ordered the mozarella/tomato/pesto panini and it was awesome!! A healthy serving of mozarella with delicious pesto & juicy tomato accompanied by a crunchy pickle - yum! For fellow vegetarians, plenty of options, including for those with gluten restrictions. Great personable customer service as well, by Yasmin and her team. Too much to take in for one visit, I'll be back, and as for the rest of you, run, don't walk to this "bar," just bring your appetite!”

“I get breakfast here a couple times a month, they are speedy and quick and have always gotten my order right. Everything is cooked well but I can't find a lick of seasoning on anything [Note- I can only speak on the skillets and country potatoes]. I always have to dump salt and pepper on everything- but then it's great.”

“Went here tonight and was excellent! Spicy tuna hand roll and yum yum roll was on point… edamame was delicious as well. Along with the friendly staff will definitely be back.”

“All of the food was fantastic. The samosas were crisp with excellent flavor and delicious sauces to dip them in. We also had tandoori chicken, lamb korma, and goat curry. All were excellent and portioned such that my wife and I made a complete second meal out of it the next day. I was put off by the automatic 18% gratuity. Not because I would have preferred to give less. My wife and I are very close with the service industry in Indianapolis, and appreciate how much harder and thankless it has been during the pandemic. In fact, my wife used to work in this very building when it was Recess/Room 4. The main reason I was put off by the 18% gratuity is because I am not the type to pour over my receipt before payment. I usually hand the server my card, calculate 25% tip, add my signature, and head out the door. Had I not been paying close attention, I would have put a 25% tip on a bill that already had 18% tip added. The other issue with the automatic 18% gratuity is....we are parents and don't get date nights very often. I could see us swinging by Aroma and grabbing some dinner to-go. But I don't see us doing that very often, because 18% gratuity is too much for someone to go to the back and retrieve a bag of food for me. That brings me to the other off-putting thing, which is the payment system. You scan a QR code on your receipt and pay on your phone. Luckily, it works seamlessly with Apple Pay, so I didn't have much issue. But it did seem, at first, that I was going to have to download an app. I could see this being a very obnoxious experience if I had to download an app, couldn't remember my Apple ID, had to do a password reset, etc. just to pay my freaking bill. Server did not provide any info on the payment process, so I had to fumble my way around. Lastly, they need more staff. As far as I could tell, there were two people acting as both host and server. So, on a busy Friday night, our server was quadruple sat within 5 minutes of us being there.”

“+Tasty food -Cleanliness (Pros) We ordered a deep dish pizza and it was quite good. The saltiness of the cheese complemented the sweetness of the sauce quite well. Bread-sticks weren't bad either. Staff was friendly. (Cons) We were the first customers of the day and the inside of the restaurant was quite dirty. Booths had not been wiped down nor the floors swept. This lack of cleanliness appears to have attracted some pests in the form of ants. Makes me wonder how the kitchen might look. We ordered a cheese deep dish pizza, while the taste and flavor was quite good, there was a piece of sausage in one of the pieces. I don't eat pork so this was quite off-putting. If I was a vegetarian I'd be quite upset. 3/5 stars because of this. We may order again but we'd probably just get it to go instead.”
