Social Cantina

This has become one of my favorite places to eat in Bloomington. The dishes maintain a distinctive grounding in the traditional Mexican fare but also allow for some creative twists. The stuffed avocado is one of the best things I ate all year. The margaritas are very tasty, with a good portion of tequila. Service tends to be a bit uneven but mostly appropriate. The location is near a parking garage, which makes it very accessible.

If you’re looking for nice decor and pretty drinks with average, unauthentic, and overpriced Mexican food, this is the place! If you are looking for authentic Mexican food, this is NOT the place. Have been here twice since the hype of opening has died down and it’s a nice spot for lunch. However, I do not ever get anything other than the quesadilla because it’s one of the only thing on the menu that isn’t overpriced and tastes good. Overall, just okay.

Decent experience. Food was okay and there is a wide selection of drinks. Only issue we had was with the amount of time it took after ordering. Would eat here again.

Social Cantina is pretty nice! I've only been once, so I can't write a very detailed review about the menu, but what I had was good! I'm impressed with the fact that you can order small food items for a lower price instead of having to order whole plates, which means that it's a lot easier to find something you want if you just have a little craving while you're out drinking with friends. Highly recommend the elote, and the cranberry mule is a must try--it's delicious and refreshing.

Nice decor, interesting cocktail and beer selection. Got quite busy during late happy hours. Spacious and seems good for big groups.
