“There was three of us that went to lunch here. The shrimp and grits were really good! Large shrimp and well spiced. The burger was average. You can tell the owner likes himself, his face is on everything including the bun! The third entrée was the ravioli florentine, it was overpriced for the quantity received. “We were visiting French Lick and this place was recommended to us for a great scoop of ice cream - and that it was! We enjoyed the pecan pie, pumpkin spice, and butter pecan flavors, and the homemade waffle cone was absolutely delicious! Light, crispy, and perfectly sweet! Service was good, and the shop was cute. A definite must when you are in town!”

“This pizza is called the BRONX. Very fresh ingredients especially the mushrooms they were not chewy they was very fresh. Plenty of mozzarella cheese that is for sure. The sauce was pretty sweet , I like a good Italian tanginess. I had a nice glass of white wine that paired well with this pie. The dough was a little bit chewy but I could tell it was fresh and homemade. It had a nice undercarriage could have stayed in just another minute or two. It looked like some pretty amazing other pizzas pastas breads very well done.”

“Hallelujah! Third time is a charm in French Lick (see prior two posts). The hostess immediately greeted us. Sandy, our server, was over in minutes. She was great with my kid and on point. I ordered a medium rare steak (expecting it to be over cooked and at medium which is what I wanted) and to my surprise the cook was great, which resulted in a medium rare steak. The food was delicious. My picky kid ate the grill cheese and apple sauce fast! Wife loved her steak. Any time I return to French Lick, this place will be my first pick.”

“We ordered the senior turkey and dressing dinner this evening. The picture on the menu shows mashed potatoes, broccoli and turkey and dressing with gravy poured over mashed potatoes and the turkey. The waitress asked us which side we wanted and then told us that the picture on the menu was misleading because it only comes with mashed potatoes OR another vegetable, you only get one side. We ordered a salad to go with our dinner Half an hour later the waitress brought our turkey dinner and no salad we had to remind her that we had ordered salads. She ran back and got them. The salads were okay. We found that the dressing was extremely dry and there was no gravy over the turkey. My turkey was dry as a bone, the mashed potatoes were just red potatoes partially mashed up and had a little gravy over them. As I'm eating I find a hair in my food. At that point I was finished with my meal and notified the waitress who promptly took the plate back. The manager came out and offered me 50% off on my meal. That was fine but I won't be going back there anymore. The restaurant was only about 1/3 full and in light of that I felt like the service was very poor. We didn't get offered any refills on our drinks until the manager happened to come out with my check. By that point I was done!”

I always rate a Mexican restaurant by their tacos. in my opinion, that's one of the easiest things to screw up and happens to be my favorite. usually, steak tacos are my favorite. However, this place rocked the chicken tacos. the steak was good too but wow on the chicken tacos. Beer is cheap. I would come back but also curious about the place across the street.”

“Pretty sad when the best part of coming to a “resort town” is their local McDonald’s Thank God this place was here though. We were staying up the road at the Big Splash “resort” and the “free breakfast” was pure trash. Our son wanted pancakes for breakfast and what the hotel was trying to serve us was BURNT!! We visited this McDonald’s several times during our stay and their staff were friendly and accommodating. Don’t expect their shake or McCafé machines to be working, but what else is new?”

“Fantastic bagels, sandwiches, and coffee. Had the Mediterranean Sea Monster and a poppy with a schmear, blueberry muffin, and fresh coffee and every bite was excellent. Charming spot right across from the historic West Baden Springs Resort. The staff (who are also owners) are incredibly nice. And with unbelievably good prices, you should order extra and tip higher! Delicious food and drink and kind friendly people, it's the perfect breakfast or lunch spot!”
