Great to see Dainty Maid live on, and the donuts are fairly good, but there's room for improvement. As Larry Powell said, labels would be very helpful. Connected to that is the service - I went this morning (Sunday) at about 8, not that many people to be served, but I was still treated like an annoyance. It did take me a few seconds to choose my donuts because nothing is labeled and I had to ask which was which; the young lady helping me was clearly frustrated I didn't have everything ready to order off the top of my head. The order was wrong in the end, but that's not too bad - everything was good. The signature donut, an iced long john with bacon, was good (but not great - I think they're counting on novelty to trump flavor, which was so-so).

This is a nice stop if you're downtown, but there are better shops in the city if you've got to pick just one. I'll definitely go back and hope for improvement. This could be a real downtown treasure.
