Great little place for those seeking something a little different to scratch that itch for delicious Chinese food.
Their selections seem more authentic to me. Though they have many of the standard "Hong Kong" style Chinese dishes that you'll find anywhere, they also have a list of more authentic items that seem like a minefield to the unfamiliar.
So far we've tried the Princess Chicken, the Salt & Pepper Chicken, and the Chengdu Dry Chili chicken. All have been fantastic, especially the Chengdu. One word of warning for those with a delicate mouth - if they say something is spicy, they mean it. It may very well light up your face.
I actually intended to go to Happy China for lunch, but accidentally walked in the door for Oishi instead. It was a very happy accident. I had the beef & broccoli for $8.50. It was served with a side of white rice and 2 crab rangoons. The portions were large. My server was incredibly attentive. I've never tasted chinese so fresh and flavorful! Would definitely recommend.
Authentic enough to impress a New Yorker. Thousand item menu. Dry chili chicken is a must try
I went here with my two tired and cranky kids and they were amazing. The lady brought out crackers for the little one before we even ordered. We had the shabu shabu pot and it was delicious. Will definitely go back.
