The food was delicious. Best place to have Indian food. I would love to come here again

Favorite local indian restaurant; much faster service than when was previously Shaukin (also getting something to go is typically served faster).

Note: Quality of food and service was rocky when first opened, but has since improved significantly imo.

Food quality is descent considering other Indian restaurants in the area. I tried Mini Thali includes choice of two curries, rice, Naan bread and sweet - huge quantity for one person. Parota (bread) was surprisingly nice and I would prefer that over Naan next time. I would return to try other dishes.

I used to go to Shaukin (before it closed down and became Dakshin) because it had some of the best food in town. Dakshin has plenty of South Indian options, and adds more savory dishes from the Northern Region. But, it is still extremely expensive, with portions that are reduced significantly. I can definitely say that you now get half the butter chicken for the same price under this new management. The food is good, but not excellent as it was earlier. It does improve upon the wait times, but the ambiance is still a problem as of the writing of this review. For the price and food, I would recommend going to other on-campus options, or try out the excellent food at Sharma's which has better quality and quantity.
