We had a great experience at The Pines. The wait staff was amazing, and the chef came out to check on us as well. The food was really good. Absolutely zero complaints. The vibe was fun. There are several tv's for watching sports. We will return to try the pizza and wings.
What a surprise! We came for a small family gathering for lunch in the separate dining room. The owner came in to visit with us and give his condolences. The service was great and the food was wonderful. Amber was a great server. Very attentive and patient with us. The chicken salad salad was really good. It was full of cranberries and pecans. House made ranch dressing tastes great. Most of their foods are prepared in house. Everyone loved their meals. We'll have to come back the next time we're in town visiting family. Check it out.
I stumbled on the Pines due to a FB post for World Cup game. It was great! Food was amazing.
Went back Sunday for Bear Packer game. Amber was great. Owner Jeff is very engaged. Planned on staying all day, but at 3 there was a shift change. Not sure who those servers were, but bad vibes! Left within the hour. Too bad too bc otherwise it was 5 stars all the way.
I think I found my new favorite place to eat! Starting up a new restaurant is a daunting task requiring many more hours in the day than one would think. These folks are handling it with grace in no small part to an amazing serve. Have you ever heard the saying, "Be like a duck." When you see a duck gliding across the water, looking all serene, you don't see they are paddling like crazy under the water. The place was busy, but she never missed a beat.
We also got to meet one of the owners who came by to see how things were going. What a nice personal touch, something I have not experienced in a very long time.
The menu has a lot to offer, and the prices are very reasonable considering the portion size. If you leave hungry, it is your own fault!
I was in the mood for comfort food and enjoyed a hot beef sandwich. The meat was tender, and the potatoes had so much flavor. I am looking forward to trying the pizza on my next visit.
All in all, a truly welcomed experience. Cedar Rapids, you have a new top-notch restaurant to try out!
